I looked back a few pages and didn't see this posted anywhere. I don't know how reliable ProFootballTalk.com is, but this was earlier today:

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolphins might be bringing in quarterbacks JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn for pre-draft visits.
Though there's a chance (albeit slim) that Quinn will still be on the board when the Fins use the No. 9 overall pick, it's unlikely that Russell will fall that far.
Thus, Salguero suggests (and we agree) that Miami could be plotting a move up in round one.
There are rumors of talks between the Lions and other teams about the No. 2 overall pick, which Detroit currently owns. Indeed, we've caught wind of a trade that almost went down on Wednesday, which would have dropped Detroit deep into round one.
Under the trade value chart, the Fins would have to come up with 1,250 points in order to bridge the gap from No. 9 (which is worth 1,350 points) to No. 2 (which is worth 2,600 points). Alternatively, they'd be required to pony up an acceptable pack of players, possibly including quarterback Daunte Culpepper.
If healthy, Culpepper could be an intriguing fit in the Mike Martz offense. Some of Culpepper's best throws have come when he acts decisively in response to his first read. If Martz could get him to make quick decisions in a fast-paced offense, Culpepper might perform far better than when he stands in the pocket like a moose in the headlights.

Just because we are talking to certain prospects doesn't mean anything more than that. If by some chance either player falls to us at #9. We want to have enough personal information on them to make a knowledgeable decision.

Mike Martz has already stated that he's not a fan of Daunte so why in the world would Detroit want him as part of a trade?

Are the Dolphins planning to move up for QB?

The Dolphins are interested in speaking with quarterbacks JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn, and could bring both to South Florida. The reason the Dolphins want to talk to both players could be telling: They could be considering a scenario where they trade up to the No. 2 overall pick, where Detroit is listening to offers.

Yes. No. We don't know.

They are talking to them to cover all possibilities that may arrive during the draft. They also talked to Drew Staton during his Pro Day.

You never know. If they see something SOOOOOOO special in one of those guys, and they see potential FRANCHISE QB written all over one of them, I wouldn't be surprised if they did pull off such a move. Even though we need all of our draft picks, if we can get our QB for the next 10 years.... I don't see why not.

Well they did get extra draft pics, so they have room to work with while still keeping the core of our draft pics left for other needs. I hope they do something like this, Im tired of getting everyone else's good QB of yesterday!

I think they're talking to everyone they might be interested in, depending on how the draft day situation turns out. They may be made an offer that gives them a chance, they may not. Who knows?

Would I like to see us draft Quinn? Sure. Will it happen? Probably not. But who knows?

if we go up to pick 2, go get calvin ........ hes the safe pick and the stud... forget the quarterbacks , if calvin johnson is there then we are practically taking a cloned randy moss except that works hard and wants to actually play and we wont have to give up a second or third rounder to get an older randy where we can just have him there.

I do believe they WANT to trade up. Whether we will be able to or not is another story. If we got to the 2 spot, I'd rather have Calving Jackson, but that's just me.

This would be the year to do it IMO. Hopefully this is the last year we're picking in the top 10 for a long time. So we might as well do it now while we're in striking distance at #9.

As much as I'd kill to have Brady Quinn on our team, I just don't see RandyCam trading up at this point w/ all our other needs. We need every pick to fill out our OL at the very least.

Stanton, however, is a solid possibility. I can see them maybe trying to move up in the 2nd round (much lower cost than trying to move into the top 3 or top 5 to swipe Quinn) to ensure Stanton. But that's about it.

If we trade at all in the first round now, it'll likely be down for more picks. My dream of Quinn is all but dead now, so we may as well get the next best thing in Stanton, and try to p/u a couple more picks along the way.

I am with you there Dolfan about Quinn not becoming a phin. I also agree that if we trade at all it will be down for some more picks. Especially since the Big Daddy trade maybe falling through and our FO expressed the "quantity over quality" strategy. Lets hope Cam can work his magic on Stanton if we do pick him.
