MERGED: First Depth Chart Released

If you can get solid coverages from your secondary, blitzes are worthless if you get beat off the line.

 You have any idea how annoying it is when you nitpick at every little thing every Dolphins fan says about our team?

... I'm interested in the RB depth chart. Saban said that Ricky will have to work his way back up, but based on the TC reports, it seems like he is outperforming everyone already. I don't know where Ronnie will end up on this either. Hmmm ...

I dont think he has looked any better than Gordon or Morris. There just has been more fan and press attention on him.

If and If. I see two IF's in your sentence. You can say if to a lot of things for example: If I was an annoying Bills fan, I would be on a Bills board instead of a Dolphins board. :chuckle:

Well anyway his ifs aren't entirely true. Example: The Steelers. With the exception of Polamalu their secondary couldn't cover my former high school teams recievers. THey make up for that deficiency with scheme using blitzes, etc...

Ahh, but you are wrong my good friend Byroan. If you were an annoying Bills fan you would most certainly be on a Dolphins board, rather than a Bills board.

:roflmao:

ricky is 3-4 th on the depth chart because the 3rd and 4th string guys get most of the playing time so that ought to help ricky get back to shape and form!He has 4 games after the preseason to rest up from all the work to get ready for week 5. JMO!

LOL, I could care less what the depth chart looks like right now. I will be interested what it looks like the day after Labor Day.

Why?

I swear, there's going to be a lot of people surprised with Booker this season. But that's ok, keep putting him down.

I am a big Boston booster, but Booker is not coming off an injury and suspension season. Booker should be the #2 WR as of now.

I am cofused and i need some experts answers on this. Isn't the NT only suppose to be the DT in the 3-4? And what exactly is the OE that JT is playing?

1. Yes
2. Open End

Talent alone doesnt mean he should be #2. Booker is a proven commodity, reliable, quick, not fast, smart and durable. Boston has not really put that talent on the field outside 1 to 2 years, he has to earn it.

RW will be moved up when it's money, but only when he is slated to play. Why put him @ #2 now when he won't be available until the 5th game anyway?

:yeahthat:

I have NEVER seen/heard the position of "Open End" used before--in Miami or any other team.

Does anyone know of another team/player classified as an Open End???

Or has Saban just created a "new" position never before used quite like this?

D@mn, I'm liking Saban more and more........

A 4-3 NT/UT(under-tackle) is a 4-3 hybrid with the UT supposed to line up inside to take advantage of one on one situations to penetrate and make plays and the NT to occupy as many blockers as possible. The only team I know for sure that's using this currently is the Vikings, with the UT Kevin Williams and the NT Pat Williams. Most other base 4-3 units either have both DT's working as a NT blocker occupying type (what we've run the last few years) or both DT's used as penetrating UT types.

First I've seen of the OE (Open End) position terminology. Would guess it's the same thing as what JT has been playing the last few years, the DE not on the strong (tight end) side.
