Chan Gailey has emerged as a strong candidate for the Buffalo Bills' head coaching job, according to a team source and a league source.
Gailey, 57, has extensive experience as both a head coach and as an offensive coordinator.
He was head coach of the Dallas Cowboys in 1998 and '99 and made the playoffs both seasons. He was head coach at Georgia Tech from 2002 through 2007, compiling a record of 44-33.
League sources say the Bills' head-coaching search could come to a quick conclusion … within a day or two &8212; and that Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier is not going to be the choice for the job.
