Why are so many people, peter king included, saying we have it tough? A breeze, no, of course not -- especially with that 4 out 5 on the road between weeks 4 and 9. But look on the bright side, At least we have a bye in the middle of it. Also, we're fortunate that the top of our sked, Pitt & NE excluded, is where we play most of the inferior teams -- precisely when we may be without our starting QB. Think about it -- if we have to take the field with Harrington, or J. Martin the first month, isn't it a good thing that they'll face Buff, Tenn, Hous? Even if we lose at pitt and against NE, we could very realistically be 5-2 at the bye -- with or without DC.

Assuming we win the games we're supposed to, and split NE, we'll be at least a 10 win team and a good shot for the division. I also don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that we can beat @Pittsburgh, @Chicago, Kansas City, Jacksonville, @Indianapolis, or NE twice for that matter.
I'm not generally known as an optimist around here, but the butterflies are taking flight for me right now..

I have to agree. The early games are practically a gift in a year when the starting QB is questionable for the first few weeks. I like the schedule, the road stretch everyone is talking about will be tough, but talk about a challenge that if met will make this team feel invincible. Personally I can't wait.

Well, one thing everyone should know by now is that fact that any thing can happen week in and week out.

Weaker teams can be very dangerous any game.

Knowing that every schedule is a tough one.

I think its a pretty decent schedule...

The opener is tough, but so be it...the last game with Indianapolis could mean squat for either team potentially. Both might have a bye by then.:D

I actually thought we got a really good schedule. We should win both games against Buffalo and the Jets, and atleast one game against New England. Tennesse, Houston, and Green Bay should be games we should win. The holiday games we have should be won. The only teams I think will be difficult is Jacksonville, Chicago, KC, Pitt, Indy, and New England

Every game in the NFL is a hard game. I dont think there is an easy schedule out there to be played. Hopefully we can handle the one that we got. I'm ticked though because we have the Colts for the last game of the season. Chances are they wont have anything to play for again and we might not either. I wanted to see a good game here in Indy!

You know how stoked we'll all be if we beat the Steelers ? With that schedule, things will look really easy then.

yeah the Colts most likely will clinch the division by then which means some of their started will receive some rest before the playoffs (Tony Dungy showed that last year) so playing the Colts late in the season can actually benefit us

yay. after looking at the schedule i predict that we go 11-5 with wins over Kansa City and Jacksonville. Those are my predictions. Also I said we will lose to N.E both times but if we win one of those then that is 12-4.

I laugh when people project the toughness ofa schedule, considering the fact that there is so much turnover on who is a competitor year in and year out.

Here's what I have come up with for 2006 based on the schedule and our offseason changes and the opponent's offseason changes:

There certainly are winable games that I marked as potential losses and also games we could lose that I marked as a win. That being said, I'll be very surprised if this isn't pretty close to how it goes this year!

Let me get this straight, you think we're going to beat NE and in the following week lose to Buffalo.

I like the schedule...I'd hate it if we had one like Indy did last year and think we were going undefeated after 10 weeks.

Dude, did someone pick us to beat Pitts and lose to the Bears?

Yeah. Man, if you're going to be optimistic, at least pick us to lose to tough games.
