Lions | Harrington felt betrayed by Bly's comments
Sat, 13 May 2006 18:33:52 -0700
Mitch Albom, of the <A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/157">Detroit Free Press, reports Miami Dolphins QB Joey Harrington said he felt betrayed by Detroit Lions CB Dre' Bly when he publicly criticized him when he was the Lions for the 2005 season. Harrington said, "I felt betrayed. I felt absolutely and completely betrayed. I had done nothing but work for that team. Yeah, I didn't play well all the time, but nobody on that team did. ... I think the thing that hurt the most was that nobody stood up for me. Nobody. Not publicly. Not privately. There were some people after the fact - a couple days removed, a week removed - who said something, very few, but none at the moment when it really would have counted."

I kind of feel bad for him. I agree, his teammates (old) were pieces of Crap

Why is he the only one being critisized Jeff Garcia started a few games and lost too.

I don't blame him. But Bly was right. As a starter, Harrington was just not effective. But with his playing experience and natural talent, he is ideal for our backup spot.

Do you think Kitna or McCown will fare any better on the same team and in the same system? Answer after thinking, honestly?

Its obvious that there was a lack of leadership on that Lions team.

A rudderless ship will go no where except around in circles.

Harrington may find a new lease on his career now that Saban will show him the way.

What the ****?!

No one stood up for him? Man, I wouldn't want to be a part of that team.

No, but that was extremely unprofessional of Bly to criticize a teammate through the media like that. If he had a problem with Harrington's play and went to him in private, that would have been fine. But you just don't do what Bly did. And even though Bly is a fairly big name guy, he has to look at himself in the mirror before he lays the reasons for a team's failure at a teammate's feet. That Detroit defense hasn't been particularly dominant.

Nobody on the Lions was a leader or even tried to become one. That was one of the reasons why they have sucked so long.

Harrington doesn't need to worry about them scrubs anymore. He is at a place where he has leaders all around him and he will know what true teammates are like.

I feel very sad for him, I wish that Detroit don't win a single game, I wish that Detroit fire Matt Millen and I wish that Dre Bly finish his career this season due to an injury!!! (I might be exceeded, but I'm very angry for the kind of person he is...)

Now, more than ever I support Joey Harrington

WELCOME HOME JOEY!!!

I gotta tell ya, he comes off kind of bad by syaing anything at all. He comments that no one stood up for him? That doesn't sound like something you want your leader saying.

Hopefully it was all a bad situation there for him, but he has a rep as a crybaby and that quote does nothing for me to change that.

Welcome to Miami Joey, may you find the kind of team you're searching for here.

Dude, I'm not so sure if I disagree with the injury statement.

I'm sorry, but that is cowardly.

Edit: What Dre Bly did, that is...

NO ONE liked him.

His receivers didn't, which is why they didn't try that hard for him (you can expect Mike Williams to play better), even worse they would drop catches they should have made just to make him look bad.

His offensive line...we don't even need to go into that.
