Evans Factor

Just another example of how this Linehan offensive system does not take advantage of every single offensive player on every play. I don't recall Evans ever rushing more then one play down here. The guy looks like he can run and overpower defenders. Maybe you won't get a 20 yard play out of him but he can certainly provide those tough 5-10 yarders to get you a first down! Just another example yet that Billicheck is way ahead of Saban in planning and attacking. By the way nice play FREROOTEE!! WHY the hell does it feel like the dolphins are playing in NEw england? UNREAL!

I don't think it was his running ability that got him cut... I'm positive it was his blocking ability.

Well they should have had him run then...there's always space for rushers! Specially fullback rushers. Not that we need him or anything but I feel a little more comfortable now that Mueller is aiding Saban. I really don't trust Saban's assesment of veteran players. As far as TO bring him down..get rid of Chambers already!

The reason Evans is running is the same reason he wasn't running in Miami. Corey Dillon is out now. Kevin Faulk and Patrick Pass are inactive. Basically, they've got nobody else to carry the ball. In Miami, you've got Ricky and Ronnie, along with Sammy Morris. No reason to have him carry it much.

Plus, Evans is undoubtaby fired up for this one. He's got a chip on his shoulder after Saban cut him. He and Zach were pushing a little after a carry last series. i doubt he makes much more of a dent from here on out.

I agree whole heartedly. I still don't think Linehan's offense is as flexible as they wanted it to be. When Saban came into town he literally said he wanted everyone on offense to be involved. But nice carries Evans..I think if he was really happy in New England he wouldn't have a chip on his shoulders..so that's a plus. Guys do want to play for us.

we didn't plan for him....he will cool off soon!!

If you just saw that missed block... that's exactly why he got cut. He just got Brady KILLED.

Well, I spoke too soon!!

Still got beat by Zach after engaging him.

Part of the reason he's doing well is because he's not getting touched until he reaches the second and third levels.

Who knew Heath Evans was that good at running the ball?

Did Bill Belichick see something in Heath Evans that no one else saw?

this isn't the first time the patriots have brought in another team's castoff and used him to success. isn't the last time, either
