Titans | Team begins GM search

<A href="http://www.kffl.com/link/173">Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports the Tennessee Titans have asked for permission to speak to Green Bay Packers director of pro player personnel Reggie McKenzie and Jacksonville Jaguars director of pro personnel Charles Bailey about their vacant general manager's position. The Packers have granted the Titans permission to speak with McKenzie, while the Jaguars are expected to follow suit with Bailey. The team is also expected to ask for permission to speak with Miami Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller and Seattle Seahawks vice president of football administration Mike Reinfeldt and vice president of player personnel Ruston Webster.

Mueller to Titans?

Dolphins General Manager Randy Mueller is reportedly receiving interest to assume the same position with the Tennessee Titans.

The Tennessean reported that the Titans requested permission to speak with Mueller about their general manager vacancy, created when Floyd Reese resigned. It's unknown whether Mueller -- who began handling the team's personnel moves after Saban left -- was granted permission to pursue the opportunity.

I agree, letting Mueller go would be a huge mistake.
All our coaching candidates have question marks but Mueller has shown he can be a solid if not very good GM.

Supposedly were going away from the coach total control route and considering the candidates were discussing I don't see any one of them that even deserves consideration for total control. I want Mueller here to make sure things go as well as possible.

We can't afford to be looking for a new GM this off-season. Wayne will need to break out his check book, and pay Mueller if he intends on keeping him around. That's my opinion....

If he leaves, it will be considered yet another member of our staff jumping ship. All of which is due to the current conditon of this franchise. It looks bad right now, and Mueller leaving would set us back even further....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

I want to see him finish out 2007. I'm not impressed with the guy as of yet but that probably had more to do with Saban's cluelessness than with Mueller. Right now 2005 was better than 2006

They have denied permission to everyone this season so far to interview for anything. I dont forsee them allowing permission now for this instance.

I know that article might be recent, but I remember reading something a few weeks back saying that Mueller might be interested in going to the Titans after Floyd Reese resigned. But that was when there was talk that he might not be retained by the Dolphins. It now seems that the Dolphins have told him that he will be the GM and have control over personnel. So I don't see him going anywhere now. I think a lot of that was brought up before he knew what his status was going to be in Miami.

Not to mention this isn't a promotion. The Titans can go **** themselves.

How can anyone really have an opinion on Mueller. We've never seen him and never heard him speak. Do we really even know if he works for the Dolphins?

How can anyone have an opinion of Randy Mueller?

Maybe because he has a documented past as a GM to look at?

Do we know if he works for the Dolphins?
Uh yeah, do you doubt we have an equipment manager because "you've never seen him or heard him speak?"

The organization has talked of Randy a lot lately and what he is currently doing.
