How long does Saban's honey-moon last?

Obviously not time to call for his head yet, but this team should at least be playing better than last year's team for crying out loud. This is ridiculous.
 
3 years. 2 to get his players, 1 to do something with them.
 
He has at least a few years.

You can't replace duds with studs over one offseason.
When he has a year or two with HIS sort of players and not Wanny's then we will know if he can make the jump.
 
Honeymoon? This isn't a freakin marriage... Miami in no way was going to be rebuilt after 5 games... The team blew last year and they blow this years..This is a 2-3 years process..get use to it!!
 
The personnel level fell off more than Dolphin fans want to concede. Not enough ammo to fill the holes last year. The key is to add at least 1 or 2 PREMIER players every year. Good players don't cut it.
 
He needs to get smarter. I am already ****** at him for not being smart at game planning.

Time to call for Saban's head???

You can't be serious. This team is head and shoulders better, maybe not on win/loss results you seem to only measure the team by, but on the yard stick many others would use to decide if this franchise is heading in a better direction.

Saban is a teacher and he is getting attitudes to change and instilling accountablility.

Those two things alone make this team better than last year's team.

Kick back and enjoy what you are watching as Saban makes the necessary changes.

Amazing after 5 games how some people want to get rid of the coach, or flush the rest of the season! This is not Saban's team...this is the pornstaches team! Give him at least 3 years, My god people!:shakeno:
 
Look, sad truth is we're just not that good. We don't have the players to be a good team. We have good skill positions, but no QB or line. Our defense is not very deep, and our nickel and dime packages have QBs salivating right now.

There are plays to be made out there on offense, but we're just not making them. This will change when we do have the players - and it will take SAban a year or two to do this.

Calling for his head right now is so rediculous, I can't appropriately describe it. Dude gets at least a season for cryin' out loud!
 
Saban gets three drafts in my opinion.

It will take him this season to look at what he has brought in and what he already had here.

The upcoming draft could be his most improtant though. The players he drafts in the '06 draft and the players he drafted in the '05 draft will be the heart and sould of the '07 football team.

This team has a lot of issues and Nick needs time.

Dave Wannstedt did damage to this team that we are still seeing.

Our secondary is getting worse as the season progresses, the pass rush is not there, the O-line NEEDS an infusion of premium talent, a young Q.B. is much needed, we need a #1 reciever, another young outside linebacker...the list is endless.

Like I said...Nick needs some time. I don't think any of us can really see how badly Dave Wannstedt screwed up this franchise until right now.
 
I agree, this team has a taken a step back. But then again, maybe Saban foresaw that we needed to take a step back first. I sure didn't think so at the begining of this year but its' too late to cry about it now. I don't think last year's team gave up the amount of huge plays every game like this years team. Its' just sucks out loud...

The stupidity on this board never ceases to amaze me.
 
It not so much a step back as we are being figured out. The other guys have tape and are finding our weaknesses one by one. Our personell just isn't up to the task. I think it is likely that if the schemes being played were executed properly we would be fine. It will take several years for Nick to have his own people so his schemes will work.
