MERGED: Information on Tony McDaniel

yeah if it's the brown 7th rounder thats upsetting, thats basically our 6th rounder...

i guess he's gonna be a 3-4 DE for us, he's Canty sized. At 6'7 310 he doesn't sound like a NT.. thats really tall and lengthy...
i would imagine he'd play some backup DE, and if we do some 4-3 plays he or starks will play the second DT spot..

i wish him many sacks..

There is nothing really impressive about his HS, college, or Pro career. Just his size...

Once again Bill and company working very quietly and getting things done. Hope they all stay around working for this team for a long time.

As long as he can plug up a hole or two, and maybe command two blockers... I'm ok with that. Let our LBs get in there behind him.

To echo what others have said, I think the FO feels for what he brings to the defense physically, as well as with a few years experience under his belt in Jax, he was a better prospect than what they would have found in the 7th round.

So you spend the pick and lock him in for your side before the draft, as opposed to playing chicken with the Jags in hopes that they might outright release him--or playing chicken with the other teams in the draft over the late round DT prospects.

Hard to find fault with the move at this point in the offseason.

this is looking more and more like we're doing what dallas did with ratliff. taller than usual NT with great strength. for a 7th rounder - nice.

I don't know which 7th round pick it is, but if I had to guess, I would say it was the Dolphins own pick. The middle of the three picks.

Sounds like most of his issues are coachable, that's a huge plus. I just hope the kid works out.
