Joey Porter coming out and bashing the front office is one thing. He wants out, so it is no surprise he is pulling no punches to get his release. However, Crowder backing Porter up and I even heard Ronnie Brown on WQAM on Monday supporting Porter to an extent. These are just two guys publicly supporting Porter, so who knows how many support him that are not going public. Plus, Porter said some assitant coaches took his side over Sparano's during the season.

There is a blog on Miami Herald by Armando that says the players do not love Sparano. We all remember the last time a coach lost his team(Cameron) there was no fixing it. If the players don't seem to respect Sparano, how can he be a succesful coach? If they get rid of the players that don't trust or respect him anymore, there may only be a handful of players left.

Is this the end of Sparano?

Replace Brown with CJ Spiller or any durable back in the 2nd round.
Replace Porter with anyone.
Replace crowder with McClain. Actually any fan could watch plays unfold and chase people after they run by so you could replace crowder with anyone. (And it would be an upgrade).

LOL Cameron never lost the team because he never had it.

How was Brown supporting Porter "to an extent"?

Aren't there 53 guys on the roster that he would have to lose not 2 or 3?

I could care less if he lost Porter's respect because right now Porters respect isn't really worth squat. He's gone any way. As for Channing, he's a class clown and his respect doesn't really mean much either. Ask someone like JT, or Pennington what they think about Sparano and you might get a better indication of where the locker room's heart really is.

Do Crowder's words show the Dophins have a problem?

The issue isn't Joey Porter. He's as good as gone. That was why he took the offensive with his did-I-offend-everyone-yet media tour this Super Bowl weeks. He said on Jim Rome he wanted to be traded. He said on WQAM how coach Tony Sparano didn't talk to him after a mid-season benching.

He even said Sparano only talked with Jason Taylor in captain's meetings (Porter was a captain).

But the issue that needs consideration is what the WQAM's show's co-host said.

"It was an uncomfortable situation amongst the team," Channing Crowder said. "I know I'm not the only player that thinks that. I know a lot of other guys think that way too. (Porter's) a great guy."

You're getting the idea of why some players talked about there being "leadership" issues on last year's team.

The whole NFL is fully aware of what a huge mouth Porter has and knows he is not afraid to use it. Everyone is also aware that he has lost more than a step. I wouldn't even start to worry about Tony losing his team. It's his team not Porters or Crowders. Ronnie can't even stay health for a full season so what does he have to complain about? Coaches make decisions and even though some may be questionable. Benching Porter wasn't one of them and tossing his washed up A#@ to the curb won't be a poor decision IMO either.

if we have unhappy players then get them out of here. we were 7-9 last year, it doesnt matter what they are whining about, obviously we need improvement not a bunch of cry babies.

I think the only point that Porter really has....and that does have some merit is the when he mentions his salary in relation to being viewed as a "part time" player and not wanting to come off the field for a guy like Wake....who I've said all along that I don't believe is a 3 down player, and/or the long term solution on the weakside....Joey Porter, Clowning, and the coaching staff apparently agree...

"If I can't do it anymore....cut me"........don't worry Joey...don't worry...

I'm far from one of these "Sparano is Lombardi" posters around here....I'm more less on the fence with him....but I don't want him fired yet either.....he needs some players to work with first....but his deficiencies as a head coach are as clear as a bell to me.....I certainly would take Shanahan, Cowher, or Holmgren over him in a heartbeat...and even made a thread about it when they were all available during the season...

I dont think the kids at the Senior Bowl were really thrilled with his throwing a party after field goals either....

Face it...he was brother-in-lawed into this head coaching job by Parcells himself.....he's still got a lot to prove to me...

He didn't win that division title....Chad Caretakington, the Wildcrutch, an injured Tom Brady, and a last place schedule won that division title for him....his record wouldn't be 18-15 so far without either of them...

I think things began to unravel for Sparano and around the team (lockerroom, etc.) after that putrid performance against Buffalo....and it continued throughout the season...

I don't think any of this is as black and white as it seems....the truth is always usually somewhere in the middle...

However, I'll take Sparano over loudmouth any day....doesn't mean I'm sold on Sparano...just means I've never had any respect for Joey "goose eggs" Porter....

Hate to see Ronnie caught in the middle of his friend and the organization. He seems like the anti-Porter. Leading by example, doing what he is told, and contributing when and how he is asked to. They need more Ronnie Browns!

how did things begin to unravel after buffalo game? they won their next 2 games and were very close in the last 3 losses.

Someone mentioned as a response to the Herald blog, that he was down over the possibility, of the players, being down on Sparano!!! Well I'll second that sentiment ... this story is scarring me ... because it has, the potential; to bring the whole organization down with it ... If what Crowder says, is true!!! it could mean real trouble for 2010 ...

sparano is a players coach. i guess some of you havent seen many games this year. sparano is always there celebrating with the players during the game. theres not too many coaches who are in touch with his players during a game like sparano is.

From what I get from this is Porter was being a little baby and wanted attention, Sparano did not give it to him beacuse he was being a bad little boy then for the rest of the season Porter mopped around like a little baby and made everyone uncomfterable. Thats what I hear from Crowder I dont think Crowder lost respect for Sparano or anyone esle put Porter they just got uncomfterable with a big 33 year old baby whining every day.

This is not a coaching issue, this is a players issue. If as a player, you really think Porter and Taylor should be out there every play, you don't understand the game. Coaches want to win as many games as they can and if that means keeping their players fresh (especially the older ones), then so be it. These guys have accept that.

My personal opinion is that Crowder is just an idiot and I wouldn't mind if he was gone.

This does scare me somewhat...I hope Sparano gets control of the situation soon!!!

The problem is Porter not Sparano. Remember last season when Porter did not come out of the game or something...I forgot it was towards the end of the season...and Sparano dealt with it in house and did not suspend Porter or fine him. Sparano gave him another chance but this season he screwed up...and Sparano suspended him for the Tampa Bay game!!! Good that was the right thing to do.

Porter is not a team player and c. wake is better than him.

Go Fins!!!
