Jason Taylor reportedly told someone close to him that he plans to stay in Miami.

This is the Palm Beach Post disputing a Yahoo report that Taylor still wants out of South Beach. The Dolphins are expected to try to unload Taylor on draft day if their top choice is Vernon Gholston or Chris Long. However, if Jake Long is the first overall pick, they'll likely try to hand on to him

I couldn't agree more if we select Big Jake we keep Taylor. I know alot want Taylor out of here, but I truly believe we will select Jake Long and will keep JT.

Even if we take Jake Long I would hope we would trade him still personally. Too much good talent that will and might fall into the 2nd. I would love to have an extra 2nd. 3 2nds would be excellent.

Way too much rumor and conjecture. I don't know what to believe anymore.

That is the beauty of the Draft , the best is you never know till that clock stops ticking and your up to pick.

I know alot of people think JT will be gone on draft day, but i doubt it because we will never get value for him now. I think we would try to trade him before the trade deadline when teams are desperate with injuries. Just like last year when we got a second round for Chris Chambers when we all know very well Chris was not playing like he was worth a second rounder.

If we trade Taylor, Parcells is obviously sending a message that this season he doesn't expect to win at all. If we hold onto Taylor, which I hope, we could maybe get a wildcard spot.

I can't believe how many phin fans want to trade JT! I really hope we don't! I couldn't handle losing Zach and JT in the same year!

Just 2 years ago he was the league Def. MVP. He's been a pillar on this D for years. I know the whole "let's get value for him while we can" argument..yada, yada, yada... We're in good financial shape now, so it's not like we HAVE to financially speaking. It shouldn't always be about the money, especially with guys like JT, franchise guys.

He should have a few more years in him, at least, and D guys you can draft and they can usually come in and contribute right away, so we don't have to worry about that now. IMO. When rebuilding we're going to need some good veteran presence around. We can't gut the whole team in one year, especially our most productive, franchise type guys. Personally, I can't wait to see what kind of havoc JT can create in this D. JMHO!

C'mon guys! Where's the loyalty!!!:beer1:

It because the franchise is bigger than any one player! I'd rather get 8 years out of a player we draft by trading JT and be in their prime when we're ready to compete. JT does nothing for the future of the franchise!

My question is what if he does have a potential for 2-3 more good years but decides to retire after this year. Just because he has a little gas in the tank doesn't mean he won't retire to pursue Hollywood jobs or because he's tired of losing or his body is tired. Get value while you can!! It's cold but unavoidable. We need young talent desperately!

Would you trade Marino in 1999 for a high 1st rounder? I would.
