Would you be interested in Jeff Garcia if you were Bill Parcells? This is saying that the Bucs trade for Brett Favre (like the media is speculating that they will). Jeff Garcia is nursing a calf sprain right now and he'd kinda be an odd guy out there. I don't know if it would be the brightest idea but it could help improve our Qb corps for sure IMO.

I really dont think he's a good fit here, i think he'd be a good fit playing for a coach who runs a West Coast Style offense, like both Andy Reid and Jon Gruden do. Playing for these coaches has given Jeff Garcia another chance, it's resurrected his career. He was an excellent player in San Francisco before leaving to Detroit and Cleveland.

All in all I'd say Garcia wouldn't work out well here. He's old (almost 40), he's short (only 6' or so), he's prone to injury and has only been good on pure WCO type offenses.

I'm not saying he hasn't been a good QB at times, I just think his negatives outweigh his positives for us.

Too old...we did the Trent Green thing already. In addition, I don't like QB's from the west coast system...which IMO is nothing more than a spread offense on HGH and steroids.

No. He wouldn't be a good fit for our system. He fits alot better in Tampa, but it looks like Favre has taken his spot there. Garcia, although fairly good in stints in SF, Philly, and Tampa...fits in better in a WCO offense, not ours.

No thanks.

No thanks. Garcia is dealing with a strained right calf right now and doesn't know when he will be ready to play.

Pretty much the same as everybody else. West Coast offense QB, old, injured. No thanks.

I can't think of a player or pick worth trading for him, so, nope. Keep with the youth movement please. We have our vet QB.

Were gonna be allright with what we got. It might take us some time but Henne will be our future. And Shamboubou, you're hot!!!!

i just dont understand the bucs, wats with the man crush for the QB's. I think they are gonna make a mistake taking Favre, i think they got a better qb in Garcia but what ever.

Can't we just develope Beck and Henne and leave everyones trash on the curb. Why is it so important for most people posting that we win 8 or 9 games this year. Lets let Beck play and win 4 maybe 5 games as he improves, then we draft in the top 10 and really start to flourish next year.

Agreed...especially for the WC offense. He was almost supernatural in Philly, terrific in TB but struggled in Detroit and Cleveland. Although those were terrible teams when he was there.. I don't expect his experience here to be too different. Of all these crazy test balloon threads being launched, I'd be most comfortable with him, if only for his high TD/Int ratio and his scrambling ability which gives inexperienced receivers more time to get open and forgives some of the foibles of a new OL not yet gelled...BUT his being here only takes time away from JohnChad and is unlikely to solidify the smash-mouth style of attack that's being implemented.

As an aside, since Jeff doesn't make too many errors, I think if they trade for Bretta, TB fans are gonna be in for a rude awakening/reality shock when it comes to Favre continuing to solidify his prodigious all time turnover record.

why would we want Garcia? He doesnt make us a playoff contender and he doesnt give us any future. Lets go with the young QB that wins the battle, take our lumps this year and get back to competing for titles.
