I can definitely live with another year of Philbin if it means we finally got rid of the biggest problem in the building.

Dolphins fired GM Jeff Ireland.
Officially, the sides "mutually agreed to part ways." It's a long-in-the-making farewell for one of the league's worst general managers. A Bill Parcells disciple, Ireland specialized in mediocrity during his six seasons in South Beach, making the playoffs only once, his first year on the job. The Dolphins are 35-45 since, and gained only one game on their 7-9 2012 this season despite spending gobs of money in free agency and daringly (foolishly?) trading up to No. 3 in last April's draft for DE Dion Jordan. Ireland's players have had a tendency to perform better once they left South Beach, and worse upon their arrival. Ireland's signature addition, quarterback Ryan Tannehill, crumbled down the stretch this season thanks in large part to the league's worst-constructed offensive line. Ireland's most well-remembered moment in Miami will likely be asking Dez Bryant if his mother was a prostitute. Ireland is good at spending money, and little else.

I tried forever to give this guy a shot,in he end even I was disgusted with the players he released,and the continual failure to fix the offensive line that has needed fixing for way to long !

Ultimatey now the BIG KEY is to find the right man for our GM !!!
 
The Cryptkeeper just speculated that Dawn Apponte will be promoted and she'll be putting the personnel peeps in place. (hope not)
 
Does already having a Head Coach in place reduce our options for a new GM?
 
Bill Polian? Just no Scott Pioli or Tannenbaum.

Well Its a great day to be dolphin fan that's for sure. The only caveat Philbin better not have been gave more power. Im ok promoting Gaine but would rather hire a GM that was not part of the mess we already have

Prediction #57 that will be correct this year…Joe will get MORE power when this all said and done. Such a shame.
