For Marion and Marcus Banks.

Breaking on ESPN.

J. O'Neal and Jamario Moon for Marion and Banks.

Breaking News: Heat trade Marion to Raptors for J. O'neil and J. Moon!!!!

I think we really lucked out here..
It happens the night after Marion gets a dunk with one second left to put us up by 2 and to win the game.

There's no links available, but a source told me today....

I the Heat come out winners in this trade. Joel Anthony, Blount and Magloire are all pretty good and have been nice role players, I really like what Anthony does defensively..
J Oniel gives us a starting Center that can help us form talented "big" formations using combos of either Oneil/Anthony or whoever to go against teams that have two 7-footers on the floor...
This also allows for more playing time for Beasley..

Marion you've been great, sorry for the tough season last year, you have been instrumental in getting us to the #5 spot in the East...
Wish you well with the Raptors, and thanks for sacrificing yourself for the good of the Heat.

This trade makes us a better team. Add in Jamario Moon, a former Globetrotter who can backup/compete with Beasley or at the SG spot behind Wade..
I'm really happy we got great value for Marion, he's a soon to be FA and we probably wouldn't resign him.. He also had a huge cap number so it's nice that was takin by the Rap.

Oh I'm in Rapture, thank you Raptors.

Lol i just saw that too...

What a great trade...

Oh wait i didn't hear about Banks leaving... Oh well, he's underachiving this year, like every year...

I thought it was a good deal. We upgrade our frontcourt without having to get rid of Haslem or Beasley.

Count me as a fan.

Good trade by the Heat. They really needed a big man, and got a good one in O'Neal. Trading away Marion will give Beasley alot of playing time. Moon is a decent SF as well.

Hopefully this takes the Heat out of the Amare Stoudemire negotiations. Between injuries, new surgeries required as follow ups, lack of defense, and a contract that expires in 1.5 years, giving up Beasley straight up, let alone Beasley AND Marion sent shudders down my spine. Just hope this isn't pivot trade to package Beasley and O'Neill for him.

Yeah, this pretty much ended any chance of them getting Stoudemire and Carlos Boozer in FA.

I like this trade.

twas a trade both teams needed. Marion, while a very good player, is not an ideal fit for the Heat's system and he does kind of hinder Beasley's development. Plus, O'Neal allows Haslem to move back to the 4.

JO also really wasn't needed in Toronto. He's been hurt this year, but with Bargnani playing so well in his absence, JO was out. Plus, Toronto swingmen have been really poor this year.

Its a good trade if O'Neal can stay upright. Moon is a nice little bonus who shouldn't have much trouble outperforming Marion.

The NBA really needs to put a stop to teams selling draft picks though. Colangelo did this nonsense in Phoenix as well. That team gave up Deng, Fernandez, and Rondo for nothing.

I really like it because it gives us a legit guy at center again. Beats the triumvirate we have at the position now.

Should get us to the 4 spot if J O'Neal stays healthy.
