Jimmy Johnson Turned Down Texans

Texans | Johnson turns down coaching offer
Fri, 16 Dec 2005 11:22:43 -0800

ESPNews reports former NFL head coach Jimmy Johnson has turned down a coaching position with the Houston Texans.

I wonder if Bob McNair had an actual OFFER in place or whether he just inquired about Jimmy being interested. Personally i cant see J.J getting back in coaching, he's having way too much fun in retirement in florida and as an analyst for Fox making money for not entertaining anyone and being always wrong. Cant get better than that....

I'm wondering if Dan Reeves will go for the job. I always considered him a guy who once out of coach would go and live his live in Florida to avert health problems and relieve years of pressure. But seeing him brought in as a consultant certainly makes me speculate.

JJ tried to make a come back by coaching the phins.. he failed miserably.. I dont think he wants to mess up his coaching history anymore :) he'd rather be remembered for what he did with the cowboys. And the Texans are in really bad shape... they are a serious project for any coach.

that is kinda cold... the current coach still is working.... lame duck?

Then he's never coming back. The TEXANS situation would be a GREAT situation for any HC/GM.

Miami hired Saban last year when Bates will still our coach with 1 game to play. This stuff happens all the time.

It might be the best job in the NFL. #1 draft pick to take Bush. Carr isn't an awful young QB. And you will have Dominick Davis as trade bait to get you another good decent draft pick. The owner is good the facilities are good. It's a great situation.
