Do vets with PTSD usually go back and watch their old units fight ?

Aparently, Martin was SO traumatized he could have PTSD. BUT some how he has mustered the inner courage to attend his alma matter's foootball game. Once someone has a confired DX of PTSD they are excluded form combat ops.

I don't know if he has PTSD or not, but if he does, I don't think he's been traumatized by football, per se, and if so, he shouldn't have much problem attending a football game.

It would be the Miami Dolphins locker room, or reminders of it, that would give him trouble. I don't suspect there are many reminders of that associated with the game he's attending.

No defending Martin, but to flat out hate someone over an underachieving football team. It's really NOT THAT SERIOUS and could turn out to be a blessing in disguise that all this went down.
