Actually I don't like this game every year because one of the two teams has to lose. I'm a USC alum but Stanford in this era plays gorgeous football.

I'm a USC alum too. How can you say that though? Every time we play Stanford, I want to beat the crap out of them -- just like all of our other Pac 12 rivals. I do not shed a tear anytime they lose. Also, how can you be a USC alum, but have The U avatar?

I have a USC avatar on some sites, like golfwrx.

I loved going to school at USC but it never topped the Canes in terms of a weekly rooting interest. USC is my second team. There isn't exactly a conflict because they never play each other and seldom compete for the same recruits, etc.

I was a Canes fan as a kid when they were terrible and there was no expectation of anything other than an occasional minor bowl. I went to all the games in the '70s when there were 20,000 fans in the Orange Bowl on Friday nights. It was like an investment that paid off when they became special.

USC is my top rooting interest in sports like volleyball or water polo, anything like that. I loved attending the so-called minor sports in school, and writing about them for the DT. I also covered football and basketball for the DT but the smaller sports were more fun. The coaches appreciated the offbeat style I used when writing those stories.

I hate the Gators. I don't hate UCLA or any of the Pac schools. That didn't attach. Right now I love the way Stanford plays football. Only against USC do I root against them.

I forgot to mention that I used a USC avatar on this site at one point. It is the same one I currently have on golfwrx, a brunette USC babe in a white bikini. After a few weeks I got a private message from an administrator here, saying they were going to have to disallow it. The guy said it wasn't too much in its own right, but if they continued to allow my avatar it would open up the floodgates.

Now I have to chuckle about that, given the sigs around here, venturing far beyond my little USC avatar.

I have not spoken to him yet today. I was thinking to myself last night after the text, how in the world he was going to be able to get the sign in? I was thinking they probably screen the signs. Will have to discuss this with him later to get all the details. I would not go as far as calling him "a genious" though. I am sure it was one of his friends' ideas. LOL. I did not even think he was actually going to go considering he would of had to get up at like 5 am on a Saturday.

I think this is all positive in hindsight. Martin sucked and the coaching staff would have felt obligated to keep him on the line for at least another year until they saw he was hopeless. And Incognito wasn't going to be asked back anyway. I think Pouncey should be the only returning lineman next year.

Martin was not great by any stretch but he had potential. Outside of Pouncey he had the most potential on line. The rest of the line is filled with guys that should never ever start

I've been severely depressed before and the last thing I wanted to do was be at a large, public social event...

And do you represent the 300 million people in America? I've been depressed before too, and being around the sport I love served as a release for me. To each his own I guess

Well, people with ptsd and depression issues tend to isolate and withdraw from social situations.

Every one situation of PTSD and/or depression is different. That's like saying everyone with PTSD wants to go shoot someone because a few ex soldiers have done so. The argument holds no water. Who knows, maybe a doctor prescribed him something
