Wow, a minimum $40 million buyout.
Hell of a return on your investment. I think we can safely and unquestionably say that Isiah Thomas has jumped the shark.
Only in pro sports can you do a questionable job, get horrible results, criticize your employees, and walk away with $50+ million less than a year into it.
Granted, a lot of it isn't Brown's fault. And you can't hate him for the contract stuff.
The only thing that could make this better is Isiah becoming the coach of this trainwreck. Oh wait, that's the rumor that isn't being confirmed or denied.
The great thing is, Knick fans would be able to spew their hatred at the man, in person, 41 nights a year. Rarely do fans get that kind of chance. Remember all the years the Jets made those horrible 1st round picks?? You know, the ones ESPN shows a montage of every year?? :rofl3: Remember how Bengals fans had to suffer for nearly 15 years under the Mike Brown?? How many times were they seen in public?? Much less on a regular basis in one of the biggest spectacles in sports.
Somehow, I don't envision shades of Pat Riley.
The Heat were a Dwyane Wade rib injury (and/or a Shaq quad) away from the Finals. Riley made huge roster changes. And now the team is on the doorstep of the conference finals.
The Knicks were pretty bad last year. Isiah makes wholesale roster changes and brings in a championship coach. And the Knicks get even worse. Max contracts and traded lottery picks.
Zeke hasn't just run that team into the ground. He's pushed them off the bridge into the Hudson River, wearing cements shoes and handcuffs.
