The original comment was that he won in Oakland. Your response was to ask what he won...

He won games in Oakland. Nearly went to the superbowl. He won the Superbowl in Tampa. Tampa then struggled for a few years. In his last year, with a bad roster, they still won 9 games, and were in the playoff hunt until nearly the end of the season. He's miles ahead of any coach we've had in the past 10 years.
 
Oh my goodness why have people already complaining and the guy isnt even hired as a head coach yet. Imagine what happens when he eventually loses a game "Fire Gruden" "Man i knew we should have hired Cowher". Just hold on a second and see how everything shakes out, especially if Reid gets canned i can see Gruden wanting that job especially with his roots to philly.
 
I hope the version of Gruden on ESPN is the dumbed-down one for TV audiences
 
You get a real coach and a real first round QB along with a new GM and I'll reget my season tickets.

I think he is a competent coach and seems to be a pretty good motivator. I'm not crazy about how he handled the QB situation in Tampa, though. He seemed to be pretty into project types like Josh Johnson and brought in a lot of retreads like Griese and Chris Simms. I know he won a Super Bowl with a retread in Brad Johnson, but the defense was pretty damn stellar. Maybe that was more Bruce Allen than Gruden, though.
 
After hearing the way Gruden talked about the Dolphins in that Monday Night game I would be overly happy with Gruden as our next head coach.

Chucky + Luck/Barkley/Jones would change the culture instantly.
 
IMO, too much "Fail" sandwiched between his glory years and now. Cowher on the other hand went out a winner on his own terms which resonates with me.

Gruden, the alleged QB guru was the second moron in 05 at the 5 spot who needed a franchise QB to pass on Rodgers and instead stand pat with an already journeyman Brian Griese while drafting Ronnie's fellow part time SEC RB, Cadillac Williams. - unsettlingly eerie, isn't it?

IMO, if Ross hires him, Gruden should rightfully tithe half his income to Tony Dungy. IMportantly, after he was kicked to the curb in Tampa Bay, more than a few disgruntled players threw him under the bus, including Simeon Rice who labeled him a "scumbag." Since JG's a bright guy, and now has the perspective of time and ESPN to reflect on his screwups and shortcomings, hopefully he's learned some humility and how not to make the same mistakes again.
 
I could also see Gruden being enamored with Robert Griffin.
