Zona's letting this massive man test free agency (6'6"/365)...remember, he was the #2 pick after Mike Vick...care for a left tackle??

If we got the money, sure. However, going with Levi Brown in the first round seems to be the more legit situation right now.

Not to be a LT. He's worse than Shelton at it. To be a LG, maybe.

Considering we'll be paying Jeno James pretty good money next year i reckon upgrading to Davis at LG isn't a bad idea

Where in the heck are people getting their info on Leonard Davis? Just because the Cardinals suck, doesn't mean everyone from their team does too. Why in the world would ANYone say he's a guard and not a LT? To put him in the same breath as Shelton, or say he's a worse LT than Shelton? SHEESH!!! That is a joke and horrible perspective. Davis has all the tools to be a Pro Bowl LT, and has been Arizona's ONLY good O ineman on a terrible overall line. On a decent overall line, this guy can excel.
Why are the Cardinals letting him test FA? Because, they can't afford to pay LT type money, which to them is essentially a RT position... Leinart is left handed, so to them, RT is the most important position on their line. Thus, the LT position is essentially their RT. He will land a big contract, and they probably can't afford to pay the top $'s to the 2nd most important position on their line. Their top priority on the O line is RT, to protect Leinarts blind spot.

Davis is a massive tackle that the Cardinals can’t afford to lose to free agency, but it seems likely that they will. The Arizona offensive line is already suspect, and losing Davis may be a huge step in the wrong direction, but the team may have to let him go and find a younger, less expensive replacement. Davis has shown the ability to simply be a wall of protection for his quarterback and while teams might not line up for the chance to sign him, anyone looking for a tackle will have him high on the list of those available."

Real good point about how Davis is esentially a right tackle in Arizona, I forgot about that. You're right that he shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath with Shelton, but I think he is a little overrated personally. I'd say that he is a good LT, but not all-pro caliber. I'm sure that somebody is gonna be willing to make him one of the highest paid lineman in the league, and I'm hoping that it isn't us. I don't know whether it is simply from a lack of supporting talent on that line or what, but I'd have to say he's been somewhat of a disapointment considering he was the second overall pick. I'd rather have Dielman or Steinbach, they should be much cheaper than a tackle would be, and Steinbach might wind up playing tackle anyway.

You read my mind. Thank you for putting my thoughts into words. :D

I know it's obvious, but the original poster suggested signing him as our LT. I'd take him as a guard, but he will be asking for LOTS of dough.

I know man....it's all good. I believe he will be commanding lots of money too. Kinda mixed on the whole idea really. I would see about Dielman and see what the draft has to offer as the board starts to present itself.

Maybe it's because he suffered from the same thing Vernon Carey went through. He's been moved from right guard to right tackle to left tackle. I don't think he's a natural LT and that's why I compared him to Shelton.
