Merged: Let the fun begin.......RICKY SPEAKS

- He's only back to work
- Teammates seem happy to have him back
- Didn't feel nervous when coming back yesterday
- Didn't miss football as much as he missed being part of a team
- Didn't watch any games last season, only knew the Dolphins were struggling
- Saban was a big part in bringing him back and was very open about it
- Currently weighs 213, but will be in full shape in 2 months
- Isn't sure if he's ready for the intense media spotlight this year

...I guess we'll see how he does

Thank you for the synopsis. Those of us who can't read or hear the press conference appreciate it mightily.

He brought up a point I've been talking about. He's about 215 pounds right now, and only has about 10 more pounds to gain to get to 225 pounds, and yet he's got 3 months to do it before he gets to take a meaningful snap. People shouldn't forget he's got 5 weeks into the regular season before he needs to be in tip top "game shape"

And the idea that Saban has lured him back here to trade him this season is ludicrous. I get a kick out of national news media who speculate (and even go so far as to predict) that Ricky will be traded by Week 1, because it's obvious they don't have a clue what they're talking about.

I was hoping he might apologize about the marijuana thing, but him apologizing for letting anyone down last year is enough.

Having Chris show up when you're just trying to cook some oatmeal will do that to ya. :shakeno:

Ive got tears running down my face... :rofl3:

Ricky apologized, I wasn't expecting him to but he did. That's one thing a lot if not all of us have been wanting to hear for over a year. Whether you like it or not Ricky is back on the team. I'm honestly more concerned about how he's going to perform on the field for us rather than making fun of his press conference interview. Yes, this is the guy who walked out on us but this is not Jay Fiedler or Dave Wannstedt, this guy actually won us games and he won us A LOT of games. ALL of that is in the past now, what he's done positives and negatives. I just want to know what he can do for this team now and I can't wait to find out. Ricky Williams is a Miami Dolphin and if that gives us the best opportunity to win games, great for us. My main concern now is for him to get in football shape, put some more muscle on his frame, and for him to be mature, responsible, loyal, hardworking and dedicated to football and this team. I really do believe that he's finally headed in the right direction.

I think you all are taking it out of context.. He followed it up immediately by stating it would be a long answer... The explanation has more to do with his journey then just "I dont know".. I think he was saying "I dont know how to explain it to you"..

Although he just said money does play a role in returning..

Thanks for clearing that up. I read " I dunno" on a few threads with no surrounding context which makes it look bad.

Here here! I will be the first to say that I want him in shape and to play well for 2 reasons:

1. So we can trade him for something valuable like a pick or another good player.

2. So he redeems himself and earns back respect and hopefully will have a happy end of his career. (I don't want us to rely on him again, but I hope it all works out for him, wherever he goes.)

You also have to keep in mind that there's also fans and reporters that are deliberately trying to make Ricky look bad. I watched the whole Press Conference and the "I don't know" response was taken out of context and you have to fully watch the whole Press Conference to fully absorb and understand what went on and they'll probably be a video posted on either NFL.com or MiamiDolphins.com possibly tomorrow.

I agree, 100%.
