With cornerback Asante Samuel in the fold, the Eagles are now going to attempt to trade cornerback Lito Sheppard, according to Adam Schefter of NFL Network.
Calls are already coming in for Sheppard, a first-round draft pick in 2002 who is still only 26 years old.
In recent weeks, there were rumors that that Sheppard was on he block, and the team strongly denied it. In hindsight, it's likely that the Eagles didn't want to tip their hand regarding their plans to pursue Samuel.
Sheppard is under contract for four more seasons, with base salaries of $2 million in 2008, $3 million in 2009, $3.7 million in 2010, and $4.25 million in 2011.​

taht is VERY CHEAP FOR A SHUT DOWN CORNER. salary wise but i wonder waht their asking price is.

This guy to me would make a nice addition to our secondary. Perfect fit. However, I just dont want to trade any more picks away. We swapped 6th round picks this year with Dallas, and gave Dallas our 6th round in 2009 for Ferguson.​
 
im assuming its his injury issues the reason for lettin him go right? btw ihhow is he tackling wise? i know samuels is very physical and loves to hit is lito newehre near that? from waht i understand hes the opposite completely
 
I knew they were 1 too many at DB after signing Samuel. I though Lito played pretty well last year, but dont think theres a chance in hell we sign him. Hes prolly too $ and too old for this regime.

lito is on his way out in philly.. at 26 years old and a pro bowler... will miami trade for him??
