Its in the sun sentinel.

Cameron has already begun to forge ties with Marino. "He stopped by the office, we've been together several times already," Cameron said. "He'll have interesting input."

Marino's opinions about the quarterback situation might prove particularly useful.

"You would all love to see Daunte [Culpepper] come back and be the competitor we all know he was in the past," Marino said. "It's just a shame, because healthwise, I don't think he was ready [in 2006]."

Agree or disagree .I agree. We didnt give him enough of a chance.

What does this have to do with the price of eggs?

I agree, I don't even think its a case of "Give him one more chance" or "Give him another chance". He hasn't had a legit shot period. He was rushed back to soon last year. He will have had plenty of time to rehab by the start of this season. Give him a shot.

We gave him a chance, albeit an unfair one by rushing him back onto the field behind a horrid OL. His contract pretty much commands a second chance, and if fully healthy, Cameron should give him one. However, I believe it's imperative that we draft a QB because Daunte's still a major question mark at this point, and we really won't know for sure until week 1 of the regular season. But he'll get a chance this year.

I don't know that Marino was as much endorsing Culpepper coming back as he was just saying the right thing. You would never hear Marino say: "Culpepper was a flop. What a huge mistake. Nevermind his injury, Culpepper's best days are behind him."

Marino said several things last season that suggested he wasn't terribly impressed with Culpepper (or any other QB on the roster.) I don't remember specifically what he said, but there were a few things.

Anyway, it ultimately doesn't matter what Dan thinks.

The only person that rushed Culpepper back onto the field was himself. He practically BEGGED to play. The coaching staff didn't push him. He pushed himself into it and then acted like an overgrown baby when the coaches pulled him out.

The guy deserves another chance. He played what, like 3 or 4 games? Then he had to stop because he wasn't in good physical condition. We all know what he is capable of doing. If he does that he is one of the best QB's in the game. Give him one more shot.

How do you know that? Of course he wanted to be out there, he's a competitive guy. Its the Coaches job to put the best product on the field so it ultimately was the coaches decision to play him. And of course he would be upset about being benched, would you honestly expect anything different?

I'll admit he acted childish, but not once did the coaching staff give him a day off to rest, like say Marvin Lewis did with Carson Palmer. Nor did they realize he was back too soon before it was too late and we were 1-3, and the win was a lucky one. You've gotta lay some blame on the coaching staff, clearly we would have had a better shot last season had Harrington began the year as the starter and Daunte came back, say around the bye week.

Its obvious to the fans, media, and analysts that Saban and the coaching staff rushed him back to justify spending a 2nd rounder on an injured QB who wasn't ready to play in a realtime game situation. Another reason Cam canned Saban's strength and conditioning coach...Cry baby? Daunte is an athlete. Any athlete would be disappointed by getting benched.

Yes of course you give him another chance, but we need to draft a QB. I've said it once & i'll say it again. Even if Daunte comes back, he does not have many years left, we need to have a QB ready to step in when that time comes.

You're turning it into a different argument. I'm stating that Culpepper wanted to play and went to the coaches and asked to play - bugged them to play. He said this himself. Not in these exact words, but he did say it. That's how I know.

I know the coaches are supposed to put the best product on the field. Unfortunately, the best product isn't always good players. Just hyped ones.

Noone likes being benched. But to get into a confrontation with the head coach in front of the ENTIRE team when you're supposed to be such a great team leader is not the way to go.

YES. CRYBABY. C R Y B A B Y

You don't act like an *** in front of the team like he did.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but Culpepper did not come back too early, and was ready for the season. Unfortunately, our O-line wasn't even close.
