Merged: Matt Flynn to Seattle

I got my first dislike today! It felt great!

You got my vote, I am glad someone on here shares my opinion, even though the opinion I have is considered whining and bitching because I don't praise the dolphins "organization" for every suck ass move they make which almost looks like a designed plan to destroy this team.

I'm not sure why it's so hard to comprehend that they wouldn't have bothered at all if Philbin wasn't high on him. A direct inside source to his ability as a QB isn't high on him, but you bring him in anyways? Makes no sense. None. Ireland has a plan alright, and it ****ing sucks. Just like his plan last year and every year he's been here.

And the only fans acting like children are the homers that continue to suck at the teat of the Dolphins FO, which can do no wrong in their eyes.

Simple, just because they don't think he is a franchise QB this doesn't mean he doesn't have value to the Dolphins. Hence the reports of low balling him. errrrr

Exactly. They wanted him but not at 9mil+ per season.

If they had any interest, it's because Philbin thought he had potential to be a starter. They wouldn't have brought him in if Philbin "wasn't high on him." They wouldn't have started going after Smith only after it looked like Flynn was going to Seattle. They struck out again and now we're on to plan C.

Pure speculation and opinion, based on no facts. Meaning until we hear what Philbin thinks about Flynn, it's all noise. Unless you have some source you'd like to share, that is.

He may think he is a capable starter, but he is doubtful he is a franchise QB. Or he think's he is a franchise QB, and you are implying Ireland hired a HC he decided to ignore from the get go. Yea, that makes perfect sense...

So they brought him in as a potential backup? Not sure if serious.

I think they are going to draft a QB and want a QB to push Moore. Who better than Flynn, so they gave him an offer probably a little less than Seattle. FOr FLynn, I think this speaks volumes of what he feels about T. Jackson and Moore. He obviously thinks he will have no problems unseating Jackson. . .

No, as stated in multiple reports, to compete with Moore for the job. Which goes along with the logic, that's why they offered him a low ball offer. A offer that reflected their opinion of what they think of him and his potential.

The guys has played in 2 games in 4 years!!! He's going to have to earn a job somewhere, not brought in as a back-up but to compete for a starting job.

 So we need sources for our opinions? I'll show my sources if you show yours.

My educated opinion doesn't need sources. It's based on very simple deduction that is clear once you take of the aqua and orange glasses. Flynn was brought in as a potential starter. Why invest any money in him or even bother with the interview if he's not better than what we already have? Teams were interested in him as a starter. That's basic common sense, no sources needed.

Lol. And if you believe that I got a couple of bridges to sell you. Flynn was looking to be a starter. Not compete for a job. That's why very few teams had interest in him. Because he wanted to start. Our FO knew this. If they thought that we're bringing him in to compete for the job at a cheap salary, they never would of brought him in because Flynn would never agree to those stipulations. But I guess you can pick and choose which reports you want to believe as it fits your agenda

So, you seriously think he'll be "competing for the starting job" in Seattle? Please.

Note, I don't think that's a good thing. I've said mult. times, including before he signed with Seattle, that I didn't see the point in bringing him in when we have essentially the same (a backup that they are trying to turn into a starter) in Moore, without the multi-year commitment. I feel the same regarding Alex Smith, who I don't see as much, if any better than Moore. But I guarantee that if we bring in Smith, especially for the money it will take to get him here, that he'll be the starter; regardless of whether it's warranted or not. That's how this business works. These aren't high school tryouts where the competition is open (hell, it's not even open then).

Of course. He was brought in because our FO believed he was the guy. They believed he was better than what we had otherwise they would never of brought him here. If he signed here it would of been as the starter. So we either didnt offer a deal that was reasonable for an nfl starter or he chose Seattle because he preferred it there. Man, the apologists are becoming much worse than the doom and gloomers. All rational thought is clouded with them

You may want to refresh the MBoard, and read Flynn's fathers quote about what the Dolphin thought of Flynn.

This has nothing to do with aqua and orange glasses. This has to do with common sense. You see this as a game to play, the men you constantly insult have families to feed and a living to make and they do their homework on these players and situations. Now if you want to constantly insult these men, more power to you, but do yourself a favor and use the facts not your opinion as facts to make an argument.

As I've said all along, my opinion is just as valid as yours. The thing is, I know my opinion is opinion, not sure you think your opinion is just an opinion.

They low balled him, because they didn't see him as a franchise QB. They obviously thought he was deserving of competing with Moore, which is why, again, they low balled him. I don't see any other viable reason, based on what has been reported in the papers, and now the quote from Flynn's father.

Same group of people always defend the front office and don't mind the mediocrity...It's shocking...
