Merged: Matt Flynn to Seattle

what ? wouldn't they have been the franchise player ?

And what your asking me to believe is that after knowing that Flynn was looking to be a starter and get paid starter money, that we would still bring him in and offer him a job to compete with Moore, lowball him and actually think that he might accept those stipulations. If you think it was just us doing our due dilligence in a lost cause than maybe Ireland is just smarter than every other gm since he was the only one to partake in that endeavor

I don't follow your thinking at all.

Seattle, the Browns and Dolphins were all after Flynn in some way. Seattle and the Dolphins were the TWO serious teams still left standing. Just because the Dolphins disagree with Flynn's value of himself doesn't mean they didn't think he may in fact win the starting job in Miami. It only means they thought he should earn it because they didn't have 100% confidence in him, hence the low ball offer. If he wanted to get his ego stroked and told he was the starter no matter what, then he chose the right team the Sea Hawks.

How you gather all that to mean it was a waste of time for them to bring Flynn in, well, that is totally and completely beyond me.

When a left tackle is your franchise player, then the organization has not done their job.

Not really sure what that has to do with this convo.
