Not official yet, but Darlington is reporting it on twitter.

Jeff Darlington: The Dolphins have waived Matt Roth, according to a source. It was "strictly a football decision," the source said. Unexpected end for Roth.
 
Yeah I noticed the other thread was missing, I thought I was going crazy. Was it deleted because it is heresay at this point?
 
Although Schefter is pretty reliable, this is not getting published anywhere except for a couple of tweets.
 
As for Ikaika Alama-Francis, I loved him coming out of the draft because he was an athletic freak and supposedly a hard worker. Detroit was a horrible destination for him. A) He was best suited to play 2 gap in a 3-4 (he played in a 3-4 in college). B) He needed to play for a good, deep team that would give him some time because he was so raw (went to college as a basketball player), coming off an injury at the Hula Bowl and needed to develop.

Detroit, in classic Matt Millen fashion, over-reached for him in the draft, didn't let him heal, forced him into the 4-3 which and then impatiently threw him aside after 1 year.


As for Roth, as general rule, it's generally not good for football players to play on a team's deepest position and have a 11 month groin injury. As soon as they need a roster spot, you're in the crosshairs.
 
are we really that upset about Roth? he was totally mediocre at best. I'm glad they made a move to bolster the D-line, too.
