SI.com's Tony Pauline reports that many NFL people at the Combine expressed concern about USC ILB Rey Maualuga's "well being" and his decision making "in the past few months."
Maualuga strained his hamstring running the forty Monday, but Pauline doesn't expand on what bad "decisions" Maualuga has made. Pauline does think his draft grade has fallen from the top-ten range to late in the first round.

Maualuga Stock Falling to Late First Round

Maualuga stock is falling and it has nothing to do with his pulled hammy. Hope he is there when the Fins pick cause we will defitnetly need a MLB.

I would absolutely love if this guy fell to us......He's a stud linebacker who's done nothing but be a dominant player with a ton of energy, heart and leadership in his time at USC. Def seems like a Parcells guy to me

If his draft status is falling because of character issues and bad decisions I would also have to say the fins would pass on him. Our front office has made it clear that we don't want any T.O.'s on our team.

When has he ever shown that he was like T.O. at all? In all the USC games I've watched this guy hasn't done anything but make plays and sacrificed his body to help his team win. Seems like a perfect fit to me if he falls and I can't see us passing on a player like that with our huge void at LB.

I dono where ppl get their stuff from honestly

he is NOTHIGN like TO but more liek CROWDER during college, party boy and immature. a couple of my friends have partied with him with pics and he is at those scenes but evreyone goes through it.

if this is the reason im glad b/c id love to have him in a fins uni more then neone and he'd be the first jersey i'll get in a long time.

Same here with the jersey thing....Rey would be the best case scenario for this team because he is a gret football player filling a major need. It would be refreshing to see a MLB get to the QB again.

Mckillop is better in every aspect of the game; he just doesn't look as cool doing it.

Don't think he would make it past New England even if they just picked Mayo last year

It could be said that yes he is dropping because he partied in college....WOW but it could easily be because some peoples stock is rising. Like Michael Johnson is in the the 1st to stay because of his combine workout. Cushing looks like a stud same could be said with ?Clay Mathews and then guys like Larry English and Aaron Maybin are climbing by and alarming rate so could he be dropping because there is a ton of talented LB's and they know they could be had in the later rounds and draft OL and DL sooner because there depth is not there in this draft?

i don't care what people say... maualuga is a solid player, and if bill parcells can select him at 25, he will have a hard time saying no.

he's got size, strenght, speed, agility, he has no respect for his body (see polamalu, troy) and he's a bad to the bone football linebacker. His technique might be a little questionnable, overrunning plays and such, but who wouldn't in such an explosive NCAA league where offences spread the ball around like they do

on the other hand, if i was tony sparano or paul pasqualoni, i'd have no problem drafting this pitbull who runs wild and free when you know you have guys like ayodele and bell that pick up the crap that's left out... sure tacklers who are most of the time in the right position to make the tackle

If i ever identify a user against resigning channing crowder because he's no playmaker and they don't want a maualuga on the dolphins, i'll have a hard time understanding. Maualuga plays like crowder, but he's got that little extra something: Playmaking . FF, TFL, sacks, INTs, big hits, you name it, Rey brings em all. If that is what you disliked about channing, Rey is your guy...

but seriously, what are the odds that he drops back at 25... seriously ?

i believe we will TRADE satele for a 2nd or a 3rd and beck for anything from a 4th to a 7th and if rey slips into the low 20s we will move up for him.

the man is known for doing what we haven't seen in years...making that one "game changing play."

If u dont liek this guy u dont know what a playmaker is.

also he did something in the senior bowl that crowder didnt do once in 4 yrs but even MERLING in barely 20 snaps or something a game did...sniff out a screen and he evne picked it off adn even scored. thats 3 thigns in one. crowder coudlnt do even 1 thing in 4 yrs.

during the bowl game, Rey blew up a screen pass...thats the one thing i keep asking to see happen. bring him in, pick up burnett in FA now u have rey to attack the line and burnett to go into coverage and u got wake, porter, and possibly a brown, barwin, sidbury etc as well. thast 4 guys that can get to the QB.
