Or maybe they are not happy with Matt Moore... Didn't think about that one uh..???
 
If this were to happen I think the plan would be to have Garrard as a backup. The team has seemingly rallied around Henne, he was named one of the captains and played very well in preseason. Unless Henne plays terrible for the first few games or gets injured I believe he will be the starting QB for the Phins this season.
 
All these moves recently are really actually very disappointing on so many levels. The most of which proves that we are not a stable team and need upgrades all over the place. I mean these arent really "depth" signings so the excuse of, "well all other teams scour the FA list and waiver wire" doesnt really work here because these players we are interested in are players that will push and compete for extended playing time and could possibly start (and not due to injury but performance) at some point in the season.. Its very disappointing to me that after 4 years with this regime we still have glaring needs.
 
if garrard accepts backup money i'll be shocked...my guess is he's looking for some assanine $6 mil per deal...which is downright retarded

the timing of this couldn't be worse...this is the kind of thing that if you are gonna do it you do so on your off day (tomorrow)...not 4 freaking hours before a nationally televised game where the media is gonna downpour over these rumors

I really hope this isn't true. The team just made Henne a captain.. he has confidence.The last thing Henne needs is another Chad Pennington sitting behind him on the bench to get him thinking that if he makes a mistake hes done. Thats not the attitude we need to have around here. We need him to go out there with a high level of confidence and try to win the game, not try to not lose his job.
 
garrard is a huge upgrade over henne

that said i wouldnt do the move since all the move will do is take the dolphins from a top 5 pick to maybe number 12
 
First of all...how do we even know this is anything more than a rumor??? I have yet to see anything about it ANYWHERE else.
 
Let's hold off on the sh-t fits until we hear it from a more reputable source, I would think...
 
It's a business. You have to base decisions on past and current conditions, and the fact is, Henne has not stepped up to become the franchise QB yet. Not saying Garrard is the guy - he probably isn't - but until Henne solidifies himself as a franchise QB, every FA QB is going to at least flirt with Miami. If some of you weren't so close to the trees, you could see te forrest. The fact is, Mia has to prepare for the "what if" scenario of Henne continuing to prove he's not the answer, in which case they don't feel Matt Moore is the guy they want to start the balance of the season. It's not personal against Henne, it's business.
 
WTF?? If true, this is terrible timing. What is he going to do for us this year?? And i'll be the first to say, he better not be our QB for the future.
