SO CAN THEY?

The Dolphins are a very good football team — they were not just lucky last year. They are extremely well-coached, and they have incredible attention to detail, making their opponents play their best. They force their opponents to find alternative ways to win the game. They are disciplined; they have a “Born to Run” mentality to keep doing what they do well. (A “Born to Run” mentality is when teams don’t get bored doing the same things. They perform with enthusiasm, as Bruce Springsteen does every time he plays “Born to Run” in concert.)

A most excellent read. :)

"I like them back in the playoff".....I want them to win in the playoffs!!! I believe they will! That was a good read, but i want people to hate on our team so that when the fins beat others on this "tough schedule" they will respect us!

Now I am worried because Michael Lombardi doesn't know squat about the NFL.

I see us at 9-7 and most likely not getting into the postseason (which works for me b/c I expect 2010 to be a good year for us).

Very good article.. It's funny, it's as thought some of these writers don't see the new personnel on the team, like using last year's secondary tackling, when we've changed the secondary.. the bottom 35-45 will definitely be different, so ST's maybe impoved... Our OL situation is different..and the best thing is our players have a year under their belts without changing D and O, and that's very important in that they won't be thinking about what to do this year as to execution and use the physical skills they do have to just play. I personally don't think NE is any better than the phins, and will be playing basically the same schedule.. I'm not sure NE defense has improve that much from last year.. I do like theiir corner situation better than last year..but the LB corps is still a question mark to me, and that's the heart and soul of their D. I think NE will play with confidence because Brady is back..but in the end the talent still have to play and finish the games..

I totally disagree with you sir ^^, this years Team is WAY better prepared for the season than last years team. Last year we had some players playing new positions, rooks just getting there feet wet at other positions, our Quarterback wasnt even in our Training Camp. Ronnie was coming off knee surgery, We didnt quite know what Ricky would bring back to the table after suspension and his Canadian Trip, i could go on and on, but one thing is very clear to me. WE ARE INDEED A MUCH BETTER TEAM NOW!!!

It was a good read, however I disagree that a tougher schedule is the only reason they may not make it back to the playoffs.

I think the division as a whole has improved. Miami has improved many spots on the team and they still can control the clock with their running game.

The only reason they don't make it back would be because of effort and preparedness. The schedule, the receivers, tackling anything else doesn't matter if the effort and prepardness are there.

I am kinda glad we have a tougher season so ppl wont dismiss us as a fluke. I want other teams to have respect for us... We are no joke

Its evident he is speaking the truth. Everything he said makes sense. Especially to dolphin fans.

I agree. If we come out on the winning end this year, they will know we are for real. I understand what they were saying though. We played a lot of teams who werent very good. But these are NFL teams and any team can give any team fits on any given day.

People said the same thing about us last year...some predicted only 4 wins total and no playoff birth..now this....

very well put Emil305

this season is a better mesurement to where we really are.

If certain players make the jump we hope they will (Ginn, Brown, our DE's, etc.), and some of our rookies contribute the way we hope they will (CB's, WR's, Wake, and White), we can be a dominate team, capable of beating anyone. If we make the playoffs, I think we'll win at least one game. Neither "if" is small, but neither is unrealistic.
