Cedar - Baseball needs a salary cap - lost serious interest 20 years ago...

True, but when u see a team like the Marlins . . .develop their farm system and watch them turn into elite MLB players and win a World Series over the likes of the Yankees . . . it makes it IMO more impressive.

Money is no guarantee of a championship . . . but it does give you an advantage.

Tigers win that deal. Got a future ace, a poor man's Adam Jones, a reliever with around a .220 BA against both righties and lefties while still being very young, and a middle reliever who has proven to be serviceable in the majors in Phil Coke, who is also still relatively young.

Still can't understand why the D-Backs did that trade

Matt Lindstrom gets shipped to Houston for a couple prospects.
anyone giving up something for lindstrom is a win for the marlins. gload signed with the phils, really wished they would have kept him.

Is Pinto the new closer for the Marlins? Or is it Nunez? They got 2 prospects for Lindstrom, so that's not half bad.

it will be nunez. but he's meh. pinto is a lefty so he'll have to come out of the pen for lefty lefty matchups, which i think is really stupid by the way. It's funny because pinto dominates rightys more then leftys.
