Merged: My dream coach...

what about art kehoe? he is UMs o-line coach and has been the only link in all 5 of UMs titles. Also UM always produces good linemen during his tenure. and he seems to be able to turn guys into quality linemen even if they arent super-talented. Also he has a confident swagger

this sounds like a good idea...I wouldnt mind taking a look at this guy.

He already signed an extension....4 years I think.
Yep, not sure on the years but I know he signed an extension...but I would rather a coach would who could actually get to the Super Bowl...j/k lol

Charlie Weis, Al Saunders, Romeo Crennel. I wish we would have fired Dave last year and promoted Norv Turner to HC. I think he is going to do good things for Oakland and if we had Kerry Collins and signed the low price FA's the Raiders signed on o-line like Ron Stone and kept Todd wade and spent our 1st pick on someone who wasn't a 'need' pick we'd be doing fine. No change of offense playbook necessary. And Ricky still might be here. Sorry I had to mention him but everyone knows he has much more respect for Norv than Dave and would have held off on the pot for another year. Okay now I'm going too far...But bottom line Norv is a much better HC than Dave. I feel he got screwed in Washington by ownership. Al Davis is doing the right thing and letting Norv make his decisions because Norv doesn't live off his ego.

I could see Danny as a part owner of the Phins before I would ever think he would be a coach. I just don't think the man has the patience to teach players like a good coach would do.

ive been proposing willingham for a long time, but i doubt we'd want to wait for a coach who has to adjus to the professional game... with that being said, I say raid the eagles, with Brad Childress (OC) being my first choice and Jim Johnson (DC) being my 2nd... also Sean Payton (i think this is his name), Parcells' understudy....

IMO I think the change of HC must begin with changes in the FO.Jones has been trying to retire for several years.Maybe Danny could take that job if they give him more power.

RS is above his head as a GM and after 8 yrs together he is joined at the hip with Wanny too much.

My hope is that we would be hiring Pioli as GM and let him hire his HC.

Rick Spielman need to be back as GM.He is already one of the better GM around the league after only 1 offseason.

NO MORE EX-DEFENSIVE CORDINATOR because I don't want to see another conservative gameplan.

Charlie Weis will be my #1 on my list
Ty Willingham #2

Hands down Jim Johnson or Charlie Weis!

A long shot would be Fassell.

I don't know about that.
The guy knows how to lead. He absolutely kept ALL his players in check on offense. On leadership aspect alone I firmly believe he could outcoach Wanny right now.

X's and O's aspect of the game. It wasn't just Marino's arm that made him great. He was known to be one of the best at reading a defenses coverage scheme and was able to do it in a millisecond! I think it's fair to say he could develop a gameplan to take advantage of an opposing defense.

I think Marino does have the basic tools to become a good coach.

2 Reasons it will never happen.....

1) First off, You just don't start out as a HC. So Marino would never be offered the HC job for the Phins in 2005. He'd have to start as a position coach and work his way up the ranks. Your talking about years of commitment and learning.
What's his motivation? Marino just stepped down from a FO position because he did'nt want to give up time with his family.

2) Marino has a great job in broadcasting.
A job that allows him to still be attatched to the game of football while being able to have all the time he needs to see his kids grow up.
Do you remember when Deon said he could take over the head coaching position in Atlanta (was it last year that Atl replaced it's entire secondary...)...Everyone was saying, you know, oh, what an arrogant, ****y, putz this guy is...I don't know if you remember Inside the NFL that week, but Costas, Collinsworth and Cris Carter were all going around the table saying the exact same thing you are saying about Deon becoming a head coach...then they got to Dan...and he says, I think I could be a head coach...obviously it wasn't expected because everyone just kind of sat there for about a second without saying anything...and then Dan repeated himself...do you remember this?
