Has anyone seen the new monitors up close? I drove by the stadium the other day on the way home and they were being tested. All I can say is, they're huge  !!!!

Really? Thats awsome i cant wait to attend a game this season with these upgrades as well as the ones done to the roster this is definatly the year to go to a game if you usually dont!

(I had seen them in pics and the construction video put not in person)

havnt seen them yet..so im guessing they will be ready for the marlins next week?

Haven't seen this mentioned yet but they're also installing one of those ribbon fascia displays around the suite level. It will be the longest continuous display of its type in the world (2,105 feet) and contain more than 4 million individual LEDs.

I drove by there about 3 weeks ago, and it looked like they had only worked on one at that time. It was about the same size as the old one. At least that was my impression from 27 ave. I guess what makes it better is that the actual screen takes up the whole billboard. It was the smaller of the two though. I know because It's the opposite side I sit on.

On a side note. I drove by the practice facility the other night, hoping to see the new practice bubble. Sadly it was not up, but the land was cleared and you could tell they're working a large crew on it.

Dolphins Stadium renovations?

I was wondering if any one knows the extent of the Dolphins Stadium planned renovations. I know there are certain plans that the organization is still not certain about, but I remember at some point when the renovations were initally discussed some time back, it was said that the Dolphins were possibly considering adding a retractable roof or a permanent roof to the stadium. I presume the main interest in the roof is the ability to use the stadium for other events and thats easier ofcourse when there is protection from rain etc. I really hope though that if a roof is eventually added that it's retractable and not a permanent roof and that if it's a retractable roof that when the Dolphins are playing the roof will be open. I believe that football should be played outside in the elements and that a big part of the fun is playing in the elements and making the opponents deal with the elements in your house. Also I think the Dolphins have a big advantage in an open stadium because of the heat especially in the earlier part of the season. Does any one know more about this? Thanks for any responses.

Im not sure when or if the organization has any plans to renovate Dolphins stadium. But I have posted on several occasions that something should be done . Unfortunately, while the field is shared with the Marlins it doesn't appear that anything further will take place. Both teams are constantly complaining about the hassle of the conversion from football to baseball during the first couple months of the season. But with the City of Miami shooting down the Marlins proposal for a new venue, it looks like both teams will be unhappy until the fish leave.

All I know is about the huge HD screens they're getting. The Marlins need to get out, I heard there were plans, but I can't stand that dirt on the field, I remember Ricky and Ronnie falling in it last year. It's Dolphins Stadium not Dolphins/Marlins Stadium.
