Bp and co may need to pull off a trade with the cards for us to keep pace with the rest of the east. Tony G and Boldin would be crazy but both are unlikley to come here.
Kurt Warner might get to keep his $2 million, after all.
A league source tells us that the Arizona Cardinals are shopping receiver Anquan Boldin to potential trade partners.
Warner recently has suggested that he’d devote a portion of his salary to signing Boldin to a new contract. (We don’t think Warner really means it.)
Boldin, a six-year veteran, is signed through 2010. He has wanted for roughly a year a significant increase from his current range of $2.5 million to $3 million.
With teammate Larry Fitzgerald at $10 million per year, Boldin is believed to want at least $9 million annually.
Boldin previously has requested a trade. At one point after the Super Bowl, Boldin said that he would not sign a new deal with the Cardinals, and that he wanted to be dealt to a new team. More recently, he had softened in his position, expressing a willingness to consider a new long-term contract to stay with the team.
While I would love to have Boldin here, I think what it would take in compensation to pick him up would just be too much. That and the 9 mill he wants a year... I think we pass.
You talking about a 1st and 3rd. That is way to much and we still need to address the Corner and OLB position. If we were to sign Lucas and Taylor then I would go for it, but Miami wants to remain young and believe it or not Parcells does not believe in investing to much in the WR position.
I would pull the trigger if we could get him for a 2nd and a conditional 2010 pick (2nd-4th) but Rotoworld.com believes that the Cards' are looking for at least the compensation that the Lions got for Roy Williams and that is too much imo..
Way too steep! He wants to be the 2nd highest paid WR in the NFL and he was the 2nd best WR on his own team. As a D you double Fitz not Boldin. I'm not minimizing how good Boldin is but c'mon. Fitz was destroying double teams in the playoffs. He earned his money. Boldin at $9M/yr - that is just crazy! And high picks probably to make the trade. That is a Dallas or Redskins kind of move.
Think about it, Anquan Bolden is probably better than any of the WR's in this years draft anyway, and you dont have to spend 2-3 years in development time.
we'd still have 2 2nd rounders
which would allow us to use them on CB/ and OLB, with the WR need filled.
Nice to dream but then you wake up and reality settle's in. We would have made a play for Coles, TJ, or Harrison if we really would be interested. Even if we took Nicks with our first pick his entire salary wouldn't be as much as one year for Boldin.
As we speak P.Kirwin is going on how Nicks is so similar to Boldin, game speed is faster then timed speed, makes people miss, gets down field, catches everything.
