So I'm watching the game and at the end of the 1st Quarter commercial break, the next thing I see is 8 something minutes into the 2nd Quarter already? Why the cut ahead editing? And then, on the Joey fumble from center at the 6:41 mark -- did anybody else see Jag's #64 T. McDaniel almost rip Joey's helmet around his head while holding onto his face mask to keep Joey from recovering the fumble? What happened to the ref that's supposed to be watching the QB?

The coverage by NFL network and especially the Jacksonville commentators
were terrible. The officiating was very lopsided. I saw the face mask on the fumble play, and you can bet the official saw it too; he just didn't care. IMO NFL officials who don't make calls like that, where everybody in the world saw the infraction, should be fined or fired.

let me be the first to say no matter how much they skip ahead in preseason games, the NFL Network in no way, shape, or form sucks. I think they only have 3 hours to each game they re-air, so they have to edit some parts out. I know it sucks that the whole game wasn't shown, but I don't see how any football fan can say the NFL Network sucks.

FYI, this week's Sporting News has an article on how referees get judged. I got the hardcopy, so it may be on the TSN website.

Guys dont foget its preseason for the refs to.

:dolphins:

:boohoo: Give me a break. There is nothing wrong with NFL network and like it has been stated this is the pre-season for refs too.

but I don't see how any football fan can say the NFL Network sucks.

So true Rocky Racoon. How can 24/7 football suck? Preseason games are longer in contrast to regular season games anyways. I don't think it will be a problem when they show the regular season games...God, I can't wait for this season!

Maybe if they were better paid the standard of performance would increase

NFL network allowed us to see (at least) some of that game. I wouldv'e totally missed it otherwise. I'm appreciative.

I was praising the NFL Network all weekend long. It's rare that you find a network airing football games ( a complete schedule, mind you ) NOT asking for more money. I always said that preseason should be included with the Sunday Ticket. This way is even better. A huge audience. And as long as it's the NFL Network, the preseason should be free for all.

Why does almost everyone on this site suffer from chicken little syndrome. The NFL network is awesome. At least the re-air ALL the games. They cut out what's unimportant or boring. We drove the ball took up time and didn't score. Big deal.

And I thought the Jag Commentators were actually very fair. On more than one occasion pointing out something to benefit the phins.

As for the game, I was pretty happy. We ate up a lot of time. Our offense had a smooth yet unpredictable mix. The defense was solid. Most points being scored on one big play that was the result of one man's mental error. Also against players with less experience.

Coverage

I was a little bummed that some of it was cut out. I thought my TiVo was abducted by aliens and experienced the 'lost time' phenomena. :tantrum:

It might have been nothing scoring wise, but still there is some evaluations that could be done during that time. But maybe that's just me needing my NFL fix after such a long time.
