From Wiki:
Davone Bess was a wide receiver for the Hawaii Warriors football team. Bess is well-known for his excellent agility and hands, which has contributed to success in the Warriors' aerial attack, run by quarterback Colt Brennan.
He lost his scholarship to Oregon State when he was sentenced to 15 months in a juvenile facility after allowing a friend to put stolen items in his car. During his time in the juvenile facility, Bess played in a seven man flag football team created by the facility. During a game against another seven man flag football team, Bess did exceptionally well and caught the eye of a Hawaii recruiter in the stands and was given a four year scholarship.
On January 4, 2008, Bess announced he would skip his senior year at Hawaii and enter the NFL Draft. Draft evaluators said he would likely be drafted in the 2nd round.
