According to RotoWorld:

Patrick Turner WR Miami Dolphins

Dolphins signed third-round WR Patrick Turner to a four-year contract, including a signing bonus of roughly $700,000.
Turner looked NFL-ready at minicamps, but he was always an excellent practice player at USC. It rarely translated to game days. The Fins will try to develop Turner (6'5/220) into a big-bodied possession receiver opposite deep threat Ted Ginn. In year one, though, we're not expecting much.

Sweet, hopefully he can be the impact red zone wr we have been looking for.

Rarely translated on gamedays? He had a pretty good senior season when you consider the weapons around him.

I always thought Sanchez wasn't doing a good enough job getting him the ball high and letting him go for it more, or putting it in spots where only Turner could get it.

Mark me, we'll be happy with the Patrick Turner pick. He was Sanchez' favorite receiver on third down and he converted the highest percentage on the team (excluding guys that only got targeted once or twice on third down). He can catch high, he can catch low, he can sink his hips well in his breaks, and he can get off the line of scrimmage. Not sure how he is on over-the-shoulder catches, guess we'll see. He can use his body to shield, seen him do it. He goes after the ball with long arms and strong hands. Smooth runner. Not as athletic as Ramses Barden but will end up the better WR.

Of course, none of them will be as good as Hakeem Nicks...but what are ya gonna do? We could have taken Nicks at #25 and I'd have been tickled.

It will be a beautiful sight to see Pennington float the ball over two defenders and watch Turner snag it out of the air :hclap:

that is what i was hoping for but i know we needed more help in the secondary, and i shouldn't complain about it.

I will be next to sign!

Welcome Patrick!

Dolphins | Sanchez believes Turner could be special player

Tim Graham, of ESPN.com, reports New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez said he believes former college teammate Miami Dolphins WR Patrick Turner could turn into a special player. "He's really starting to come into his own and be a dominant receiver, somebody who plays with a lot of effort and intensity," Sanchez said. "He's only going to get better. You haven't seen his peak yet."

If Vontae and Sean are able to keep guys like Andre Johnson and Randy Moss from having career days against us, I'll be ok with passing on Hakeem Nicks...lol.

Agreed Ck, I hardly see 49 receptions for 741 yards with 10 TD's as talent rarely barely being seen on gameday. Sanchez completed 241 passes for 3207 yards and 34 TD's. That means with all of the talent on USC's roster Turner accounted for 20% of the pass completions, 23% of the yardage, & 29% of the TD's. Not to shabby by anyone's standards.

Now I know many of you will say Damian Williams had a much better season than Turner did, but in actuallity if you look at his stats 58 receptions for 869 yards with 9 TD's, I would say they were basically the same.

I would even go on to say Turner had a better second half of the season where he made 27 reception for 403 yards with 7 TD's compared to Williams 26 receptions for 374 yards and 3 TD's in the last 7 games of the season.

Here's to hoping the Trifecta has found another diamond in the rough.

I really wanted Nicks or Brandon Tate who I believe both will be studs as pro's, but I think Turner is going to be a very good WR. So Davis and Smith I see, right now anyway, as very good moves indeed.

I disagree. Hakeem is overrated. Bess is just as good, imho, and we got him undrafted. I'll take Vontae and Turner over Nicks and ...
