First off lets start off by saying that Pennington is an extremely accurate QB, much more accurate than any QB we got on our roser. I thought I saw something that ranks him #1 all time amongst QB's with at least 1,500 attempts. Second, what QB on our current roster has ever done a thing in the NFL other than Pennington? Beck is going into his 2nd year, but you can't put a whole lot of stock into that. He could be good but we don't know, give him some time and maybe he'll pan out. Henne.... do you wanna start the season with a rookie 2nd rd pick under center? I don't. Then we got McCown... probably the worst signing of any of our offseason additions. The guy is one of the most pathetic QB's in this league and if any of you think he's going to suit up and win us some games you're crazy. He's done absolutely nothing in this league other than lose games. Pennington has had his share of injuries, but he clearly gives this team the best chance to win games this year. I don't know about any of you, but I'm not to interested in watching another 1-15 season go down because we don't have any stability at QB. And another thing, I read something that someone didn't think Pennington was brought in here to start? Sorry to break it to you, but a team doesn't sign a guy to a 2 year 11.5 million dollar contract unless he's expected to start. Cut McCown and let Beck and Henne develop for a little bit then give the team to one of them.

Maaan. This is going to be hard for me to root for Chad Pennington. I used to make fun of Chad and other Jets fans the past few years. People used to call him noodle arm because his shoulder had to have a few surgeries and he couldn't throw the long ball as well as he used to. Maybe Parcells knows something we don't. I don't know what to think of Chad being a Dolphin all of a sudden. If he wins games and does well .... of course everyone will forget about his days with the green gang or whatever they call themselves. :)

Even if Chad has a noodle arm, it is more accurate than any QB we have had since Marino, and we don't need Chad firing 35 yards down the field....we are likely going to hand the ball to Ronnie/Ricky 60+ percent of the time. :woot:

wow look who comes back here when the games start for real!! LOL

I agree, I use to hate Chad when he was with the Jets, but I welcome him here. I think the arm strength thing is a little bit much. The percentage of long passes being completed in the NFL is very low, so we don't need him to throw 50-60 yard bombs.

Are You Happy With Pennington's Adquisition?

Personally I hate it!, IMO Pennington's adquisition will step back the whole process in our QB project..., instead of groom Beck and Henne, giving Pennington a chance will not make us playoffs contenders and there wont be a chance for Beck and Henne to perform, they will only stay away from football for more time and lose practice.

But that is just my opinion, I hate Pennington's adquisition, we are paying a LOT for his services and will do no change except than taking our QB process a little slower.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

If by getting Chad, we are able to win more games (and I think we will) then I`m all for the move. Let Henne and Beck sit and learn.

chad pennington is a REAL NFL QB-
he'kll hold the mantel until henne is ready-

Yes, I'm happy with the aquisition of Chad Pennington. Now, there's this matter of cutting Chainsaw Charlie that needs to be attended to.

After getting over my initial shock/revulsion of Pennington and his Jets stink. I am warmng up to it.

Clearly after watching the game tonight C.P was doing his best to help C. Henne and Beck. I think they need someone to help bring them along who knows what he is talking about.

Clearly his arm is not the greatest but no one questions his football knowledge and IQ. Except Jets fans and they have none so...

I think it was a smart signing for us. It will help Henne's development.

I answered yes, but I think, to be fair, you should only put "yes" and "no" and not have explanations.
