MERGED: Philbin meeting with coveted O-Line coach Andy Heck

Philbin meeting with OL Coach Andy Heck

New #Dolphins coach Joe Philbin wasting no time on staff; meeting w O-line coach Andy Heck, who also is coveted by #Falcons and maybe #Rams

Forget the Rams on Heck. They weren't waiting on him. They did, in fact, hire Paul Boudreau as O-line coach, as reported.

Andy Heck has served as an Oline coach for the #Redskins, #Bears & #Rams & #Jagurs. Helped lead Notre Dame to a National Championship in 88

Last season under Heck the Jaguars were 12th best in the running game & 25th in Sacks allowed. In 2010 under the Heck the Jags running game ranked 3rd best & 19th in Sacks allowed. In '09 Heck's was 25th in sacks allowed & 10th in rushing yards. His unit tend to be better in the running game then pass blocking.

Thanks! Keep bringing us news like this, I like what I am reading.

He is diving right in. Man I cannot wait to see him coach.

I love how he has wasted no time in trying to assemble a staff
he better hurry, if the raiders hire moss, there will be a battle between moss and philbin to pick the packers staff.
heard the raiders are interested in mornhinweg also

Sign me up. The line really can't play any worse than it did this season.

Love it! I see nothing but a quality coaching staff coming up for the Miami Dolphins.

Philbin had great online play at Iowa the short time was there. Kirk Ferentz is a great online guy but Iowa's online hasn't been quite the same since he left. I have no doubts Miami's online play will be much improved under Philbin's watch.

Andy Heck coached the Jaguars line for 8 years since 2004. In those 8 years his Oline helped produce over 1,500 rushing yards every season. In 8 years under Andy Heck as O-line Coach the #Jaguars had four 2,000 rushing yards season. While his units are average at pass blocking they are suberb at rushing the ball. And Heck would be a heck of hire by Philbin well regarded, ex player and has built some strong Olines in Jacksonville.
