Looks like the #8 pick has signed. This may help the Ginn contract to be completed soon, since they will be using the contracts before and after to 'frame' theirs with.

"A league source tells us that defensive end Jamaal Anderson, the No. 8 overall choice in the 2007 draft, has agreed to terms with the Falcons."

Now we have a base to go off of. Hopefully both sides will work to get it done quickly.

Yeah it is good that the pick ahead signed. Both sides know where they need to be. Would be a good end to the day to hear that he is inked. Even if it does not happen today I don't see it taking too much longer.

But I thought the money and length part of the contract was agreed to and it was just the esclators that was the hold up. So 8 and 10 pick wouldnt matter.

I thought that the "Close family friend" of the Cameron clan would have been in camp by now. Maybe the lack or urgency has something to do with his injury not being completely healed.

I would be Ginn signs Friday

do you guys think that the new wr we just signed(marvin allen) could be a sign the deal might take longer than thought? i have never heard of marvin before so i'm assuming he is for the practice squad regardles. o by the way i saw the info on the nfl network ticker that we signed him so i have no link.

The only reason that matters is that it's time for him to get his *** in camp. There's so much posturing by agents over fractional contract numbers with draft picks now. I'm really tired of it. I'm sure Huizenga is too. After all his threats we're being held up by a punt returner.

This is what we've heard from reports as well, but you know how inaccurate these things are sometimes. It also doesn't help that his agent appears to be a hard *** when it comes to agreeing to a contract, according to other reports.

2 good reasons that Ginn will report on time

Falcons | J. Anderson agrees to terms

Thu, 26 Jul 2007 09:57:17 -0700

Steve Wyche, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports the Atlanta Falcons have agreed to terms with first-round draft choice DE Jamaal Anderson on a five year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and defensive end Gaines Adams, the fourth overall pick in this year's draft, have agreed to terms on a six-year contract, ESPN's Johy Clayton reported Thursday.

The deal maxes out at $46 million, with $18.56 million guaranteed.
