Merged: Pouncey could miss First Half of Season

I think Pouncey is very overrated, and I've yet to understand how supposedly one of the best centers in the league is part of a constant train wreck in pass protection (not all his fault, but he never really does much positive there either) yet he can't move a guy off the ball in the run game and he grades out poorly there as well.

Still, the Dolphins have proven time and again in recent years that it can (and usually will) get tremendously worse than overrated (see: Long, Jake).
 
The bright side of this is we know going into camp he won't be around for a while instead of a week before opening day....this front office has plenty of time to come up with a good contingency plan before opening day....time to earn your money GM no excuses injuries are part of the game everyone has them
 
And yes, every team has some type of key injury during the season. It's all how you adjust to it. There are no excuses. Get it done!!!
 
We do feel so snakebit as fans of this team. I don't think the roster is talented enough and 6-10 is a legit possibility unless RT17 plays great. Even if he does, we could still be only 8-8 based on the O-line and crappy line backing. 10-6 requires too much luck.

Also the whole concept of 'getting the ball out quick' makes us too easy to defend, where the D can play redzone defense all the way down the field. Our best weapon is Wallace and he needs time to get behind the secondary. Lazor and the new GM need more time to fix the FUBAR team that Sherman and Ireland left them.
I think Philbin is culpable and can be assessed independently of the other 2. His leadership and saavy are suspect but not damned yet. I pray things work out and that he is vindicated cuz starting over seems unbearable.
 
Just remember, anything less then the playoffs and Philbin and his staff get the axe. Maybe Hickey too. Then we start all over.... yet again.

Even the source of this "news" story covers itself by saying the team could carry him on the active roster in September. All speculation right now, we need to just wait and see where he is after the preseason.

I Agree Nubs and IMHO Pouncey IS NOT A PLAYER that likes to earn his money by riding the bench , He loves to play the Game , and if there is anyway possible HE WILL be back as soon as he can , he is just that type of player he will stay in therapy and he will do what it takes to get back on the playin field .

We have to wait and see, but unfortunately I would expect more drama if I were forced to choose right now.
 
Oh boy. This season just doesn't have a good vibe so far. I might just skip week 2.
