Merged:QB wrong pick,JJ says/JJ taken out of context

I got to see JJ"s first round answer for the rb position all those years ago John Avery play last week...It was a Cfl game the local Winnipeg Blue Bombers vs Avery's toronto argonauts.

Crunchtime, why are you posting old stuff?

BTW, if JJ was so brilliant, name one good offensive player he's responsible for bringing to the Dolphins.....

JJ's forte is Defense. The man can scout defense....scouting offensive talent is another story.

garcia would have been nice. yes he had a horrendous game last week, but the guy has been to the pro bowl, and he can run as well as throw a nice ball deep...ok having TO helped him, but he Is proven and has a few good years left in him. AJ was and is unproven, and cost us a good draft pick. if we need to WIN NOW to save his job, why pick a guy with 8 career starts...not to say he doesn't have a bright future and all, but I got to side w/ JJ on this one.

what abuot aikman? irvin? emmit smith? jay novacek? that good fullback they had to? he had to have drafted some of those guys...

Did they play for Miami?

Wasn't Fiedler JJ's choice at QB. I guess he prefers the inaccurate, inconsistent one.

He's flat out wrong on AJ. Feely will be a very good QB for us. Both of those Ints returned for touchdowns were miscommunication throws not inaccurate ones. In both cases, the receiver went in and AJ threw it out. In the Lamar Gordon case, he should have gone out and Chambers admits he should have gone out. We should really be working on the communication here so that it doesn't happen at Ptt. The answer is not "throw it away". The answer is to get the receiver to go in the direction he was coached to go in and have AJ throw it there.

Take away those two picks and Aj's numbers are terrific. Not aleviating all blame from AJ - he had a couple other ill advised throws into triple coverage that were bad decisions and that were not intercepted, but overall the kid is exactly what we need: an accurate, consistent passer. Will he make mistakes this year? Absolutely. Is he making decisions right now with a complete understanding of the offense? Probably not. But that will come.

I'll take JJ's opinion on Defense any day of the week, but offense is not his forte.
Yeah I'd much rather take Wanny's advice on a player because he has won so many superbowls. He must know a great player when he sees it I mean he's the one that started Fiedler for the past 4 years. I mean JJ acts like he has won the superbowl before or something. What was he thinking :shakeno:

Wasnt the reason they all did so well in Dallas was the rape job they did on the Vikings for herschell walker, well one of the big reaons anyway.

I agree that JJ's evaluating talents on the offensive side of the ball are questionable at best. He had years to build a running game to complement Marino and couldn't manage it. Then he stupidly traded himself out of the position to draft Randy Moss.

The one that really puts Jimmy Johnson in the ground as far as I'm concerned, though, is the despicable manner in which he passed all the blame to #13. The rotten treatment of Dan by the JJ-Wanny regime was what drove me away from the Fins for a time.

Didn't I read an article a couple of days ego (posted here) that JJ said it was too early to comment on AJ for good or bad? Friggin' Jimmy

JJ, stay on you're yacht, sip you're drink, and shut you're mouth!! After you ran like a coward after the jacksonville playoff loss, i don't give a damn about what you have to say.

I'm not defending Dave here. You misread my post. I was making the point that maybe - just maybe - JJ doesn't know everything about quarterbacking and maybe he's wrong with his initial assessment of AJ.

Is that okay with you?

Old stuff ? Look at the column date ?Its dated Sept 23 and the thread was posted early in the morning. If that is old for you.............

sometimes truth hurts i dont care who it comes from. if feeley turns out to be anything decent i will gladly eat my words. he has showed nothing pre season or the first two reg season games but that just my opinion.

JJ left after taking this team to it's most embarrassing defeat ever. He may have been great in the early 90's, but if what he did while he was here is any indication, I can't put too much value in his comments.

JJ said "Larry Shannon is another Randy Moss" :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

Thanks for your idiotic input Jimmy. Please, leaving us with Wanny is enough for quite some time...
