Browns | Cleveland a possible destination for Culpepper?
Sun, 8 Apr 2007 11:34:15 -0700
Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Phil Savage are under tremendous pressure to win in 2007 following two sub par seasons. It is for this reason they might be willing to gamble on Miami Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper returning to form and reemerging as one of the NFL's top players.

Raiders | Culpepper and Moss to reunite?

Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, reports the Oakland Raiders could be the best fit for Miami Dolphins QB Daunte Culpepper. Team owner Al Davis loves the idea of being able to reunite Culpepper with WR Randy Moss. Oakland would then bypass Louisiana State QB JaMarcus Russell to draft Georgia Tech WR Calvin Johnson, who would give the team a lethal combination at wide receiver.

I wonder if we snag Green if there is a possibility of us trying to trade Daunte on Draft Day to Qakland. If not Qakland is there any possible way of us packaging our 1st, Daunte one of the 2nd rounders and maybe a 6th or 7th for Daunte, if not both to Cleveland for the number 3 spot in the Draft.
If Detroit passes on Quinn. Our package would look like this:

1st pick 9th overall
2nd pick
6th pick from New Orleans
7th pick from New England

How would you guys feel about this trade.

we'll probably do something dumb & release him instead of trying to get something for him.

yeah, just like randy did with mare and welker! there's no way we'd ever get rid of dante this soon without getting any value out of him. maybe with wannstache or satan, but not randy.

The question is, would he pass a physical to validate the trade?

excellent question. If he could, I imagine his best chances are right before the draft, rather than right now. I suspect he does to the Raiders for their 5th (which is like a fourth since it is so high). Then they take CJ

You read my mind, Mcmichael was release cause we didnt want to pay him the bonus he was do.... I think If McMichael would have not been released we would have traded him to St.Louis for a 3rd...

If Dante can pass a physical, ie is healthy, why would we want to trade him? KC wants too much for Green.

I would like to see it happen. Anything anyone gives us for Culpepper is instant value. Just sending him to any of those teams makes the chances of us getting Quinn much better.

KC might end up cutting Green if their is no trade come draft day. I see what is happening with GReen much like what happened with Mcnair.

Blah, blah blah........you would almost think it's the offseason. Rumors are getting old around here.

i don't see how daunte can fetch anything more than a conditional pick in 2008 based on his 2007 performance. maybe we'd get a 5th or 6th for him this year plus a conditional in 2008 that could be as high as a 2nd rounder and as low as nothing

Nobody wants a has been with a bum knee and questionable decision-making ... Now if the Dolphins had pumped him up and said he was fully recovered and looked great, maybe there might be some interest, but they have been vague and negative so there is no interest other than trade fantasy.
