MERGED: Reggie Roby DEAD at Age 43

When I heard Dan's son had actually recovered from autism, I was elated.

As someone with autism myself, I would have to disagree witht he word "recovered." Autism is a congenital (well, the anti-vaccine thugs would differ with that) neurological disorder, and as such, is lifelong. Yes, there are ways to cope and develop mechanisms to overcome its symptoms (like I have), but it can never be "cured," although there are some who are trying to do just that..

Very sad indeed. I grew up watching Roby punt for our Dolphins. He is the greatest punter this franchise has ever seen and one of the all-time greats in the history of the NFL. May God bless and comfort his family on this sad day.

God Bless Reggie's family and my prayers to them and all the extended Dolphins family that had the HONOR and PRIVELEDGE to watch Reggie do his thing. He will be missed in many circles!

Reggie had the most powerful and distinctive punting style I've ever seen. Catch the ball, set it out in front, one step, and high follow through. Nothing rushed, no hopping, just pure power. It was absolutely sick to see how much height and distance he could get on a ball. He will be missed. Thanks for the memories, Reggie, and we'll see you when we get there.

He was a great punter and an all time dolphins great. He will be missed.

This is incredibly sad. I read a story about him about two years ago where he was thinking of trying out for the NFL again. The writer had said that Reggie could still boom them just as far as the current punter's could.

RIP Mr. Roby

I'm not gonna read every post as I'm sure that they're all pretty close to be the same.I just want to join in the prayers. He indeed was a great player for us. Same draft year as Marino and Clayton but he was also a father and that's more important.RIP Reggie Roby!

Ozzy rules!!
