Daytona I highly doubt Jay Glazer would hurt his own reputation in order to protect Ryan. Unless your just kidding, then never mind.

Jay Glazer reported this and tells the story, he was with Rex. This guy was in Rex face cussing him off and telling him he hopes he dies. That is over board and a clear example of why their are bad fans apart of every fan base and when some Jets fan does something you shouldn't call all Jets fans the word because I call all Miami fans trash for this but I wouldn't since it was one drunken idiot.

So it was some scumbag fan bashing him and giving him **** the whole time. What a shock.

Its really not a big deal regardless. Some guy was being a dick and Rex told him to F off. This story is blown way out of proportion.

But Jay Glazer said that Rex should have been given $50,000 for the way he acted. I'll take his word for it since he was there.

Damn, I actually thought they treated him pretty well. Personally, I would have pissed on his head and set his fat *** on fire.

:diaf:

Rumor is there was a 3rd spitter on the grassy knoll. I'll wait for the Magruder film for confirmation.

I don't believe that he was spit on. If the comissioner knew this and all he did was flip them off in return, a $50,000 fine is way out of line.

If he actually was spit on, I would say no fine should have been levied in my opinion.

this could happen anywhere if Tony Sprano was around a bunch of drunk jets fans i am sure some might do the same thing

I was going to say something similar to this but only if Sparano ran his mouth all the time like Ryan did. Jets fans don't have any reason to despise Sparano other than him being 3-1 against them in the 2 years he's been coach. Aside from that, he doesn't go around talking smack with players and the media so aside from being a rival's head coach, I don't see any Jets fans being idiots like the one(s) around Ryan.

Ryan still lost his composure even though he was preempted. That sucks for him especially b/c what he did was probably just a natural reaction and it cost him 50K.

Well, when you travel to an event in a rival city and publically bait the crowd, thats whats going to happen. I dont condone spitting in any way, shape or form, but when you rile up people who are drinking alcohol, expect a reaction.

That would be like a Dolphins fan going into a bar full of NY Jet fans and he started running his mouth off to everyone in the place. If he left that bar only to be spat on, he could count himself very lucky.

This. Obviously he didn't deserve to spit on. But when you instigate rival fans that already hate you for being a D-bag in the first place, expect repercussions.

You assume facts have anything to do with Goodell's fines.

Goodell didn't fine Rex. Check your facts. The Jets 'fined' Rex, and I doubt he had to pay a penny of it.
