Nice read from the Official site:

One thing of interest is that they are moving him from Tackle, to DE. I know they don't publish Off-Season Depth Charts, but I imagine he's now Holiday's back up, since in Caper's D, that's more of a DE/DT position than Carter's old (now Roth's) DE slot.

Anyway, if my thought process is wrong here, some one correct me please. :)

Coming on strong? What, without the pads on??? What does this mean? Until he's out there slugging it out with the pads it means zero.

Gotta admit, though, that the guy is a potential steal in the 7th rd. With his size, speed and athleticism he could be a very good player. The guy was a Lomabardi award finalist and likely a 1st rd pick prior to the rotator cuff injury.

Maybe they meant this
Physically, Rodrique says his shoulder feels stronger than it did before the surgery and he is lifting more weight than he ever has. The surgery was a success, and even though he was rehabbing through all of what would have been his rookie year, he sat in on film sessions and defensive line meetings, watched practice and even participated in contact drills over the last three weeks.

you hit it right on the nose, i was looking forward for him to rehab from that surgery all year last year, wright probably was going to be a late first early second rd pick prior to his injury and i thought that it was great we got him in the seventh. definately a good pick up. He is a very solid player and should do well with the FINS!!

Rodrique Wright has an awesome attitude. A lot of high profile college players could learn something from the way he's approaching his pro career:

"I don't feel as much pressure, not to say the coaches aren't going to put pressure on me, but as far as scheming and other teams, they don't know who I am, they don't care who I am. I think that's a good thing."

So if he ends up performing real well i suggest that we swap him for Jason Allen and say that we got Allen in the 7th round and Rod Wright in the 1st

I think he is moving to a DE in the 3-4. The same way that Vonnie Holliday is sometimes considered a DE.

I look forward to seeing what Rod Wright can do. Hopefully he'll make everone forget about losing Fred Evans.

He can very well turn out to be a solid back up. I just don't see any room for him as a starter with Matt Roth, Vonnie and Jason Taylor working on the ends, Traylor and Solai at NT.
