Ronnie Brown vs. LaDanian Tomlinson

I was messing around on NFL.com with the stats page and found this to be very interesting:

Tomlinson's Rookie Year:
339 attempts
1,236 yards
3.6 avg.
10 TD
7 rushes of 20+ yards

59 receptions
367 yards
0 TD

Ronnie's Stats through 11 games:

167 attempts
789 yards
4.7 avg.
4 TD
5 rushes of 20+ yards

26 receptions
178 yards
0 TD

Ronnie's projected stats at current pace
243 attempts
1,147 yards
4.7 avg
6 TD
7 rushes of 20+ yards

38 receptions
259 yards
0 TD

Imagine if Ronnie wasn't sharing carries, he would have about as many touches as LT but with a higher average his stats would most likely eclipse LT's. I bring this up because many draft experts said Ronnie is a bigger, faster version of LT.

Interesting.

One thing, he is definatly not faster than LT. LT is legit 4.3 40, I don't think Ronnie is quite that fast.

Ronnie is at least 10lbs heavier.

I know, 5'10 222 4.3 vs. 6'0 230 4.4

Just saying he isn't faster than LT, it dosn't mean anything.

I think LT2 is making a good damn case for being in the top 5 of the best running backs EVER!!

The only knock is durability.

or you could say his average might have gone down with more carries.. more carries = tired legs. so its not really a valid prediction.

Here is a good question, some body can start a thread with this if they want. Would you rather have Ronnie Brown or Reggie Bush??

That's usually not the case. In fact, it's usually the opposite. LT's YPC is highest from carries 16-25 (and steadily goes up within that margin).

Not by an entire yard though, I predict that even with all of Miami's carries Ronnie would have a 4+ average.

Use the search function. You will find at least 2 threads where this has been covered ad nauseum.

And they aren't my threads that I had to use a calculator and do math for!

I guess statistics could point to RB having LT-Like number but I couldn't help but laugh when I saw the thread title..."Ronnie Brown vs. LaDanian Tomlinson" C'mon guys, really. How can we compare the two. If Ronnie keeps it up for another couple years with numbers improving then maybe you can compare stats but LT is LT. The NEW LT! When you can come in to the league and have the name "LT" given to you and people forget Lawrence Taylor, you're something special.

Im comparing two top 5 draft picks who have a good combination of power, speed, and hands. I think the comparison is valid.
