I was reading on the Phinsider that rumors were swirling that Jason Taylor could be traded to Green Bay. It has the Packers offering a 2nd and 4th round pick for him. Don't kill the messenger just relaying what i've read.

2nd and 3d, and in my eyes, its a done deal!

(Putting my my helment on, 'cuase i know I'm 'bout to get bombarded for what i just wrote :)))

yeah i've read it as well. Also read somewhere else that the vikings would offer even more.

JT gets his playoff Caliber team. We get a 2nd and 4th i can deal with it. Id miss ya JT but bring on Chris Long !

three 2nd rounders would be crazyyy

i totally agree with u there....also he deserves to be playing for a contender...we owe it to him

I refuse to believe we can't somehow get a first round pick for him even if a late first. He may not be a long term fix but I could see one of the teams that is "a player away" making a move for him. It might take some type of package deal but I think it could get done.

I wouldn't trade for Greenbays 2nd (and 4th) because they are low.

Here's a link of some Packer fansite talking about it, in case anyone wanted to see the rumor in writing

Another post mentioned the Vikings offering a 2nd and a 3rd. I'd go for either of them if they are real.

heck if both these two nfc central teams are going to battle over jt maybe we can get more..two picks this year and maybe one for next year...i take the 2nd and 3rd pick from the viks ..man there d would be nasty with jt on it

Why? He is still a premium talent and big time pass rusher. With the way the NYG beat the Pats in the super bowl, teams are trying to load up on DL and especially guys that can get after the QB. Few are better than JT. He is just a year removed from being the THE most dominant defensive force in the NFL. He has a substandard year last yeah, but he was on a 1-15 team, still put up good numbers and made the probowl and came on strong at the end of the season.
Absolutely no reason a team like the Vikings, with a great run D but little in the way of a consistent rush, cant offer a first rounder.
As for the green bay deal, no thanks. Im not sure what other second rounders they have aquired via trades, but unless its in the first half of round two they might as well pony up that first rounder or just stay put with what they have.

Well, it'd be mainly due to his age and the fact that he has talked about retiring and becoming an actor or TV personality for the past 2 or 3 offseasons. Now he's on a TV show, so the process has already begun.

Better do it now before we end up with nothing.

Yup Yup! This is a very deep draft class we can still get very good value out of a 2nd rounder.

he is getting to the twilight side of his prime and he makes mucho money. A first we will not get for him.

Why? Because he'll be 34 on opening day. Because he will no longer be in his prime when this team is a contender. Because he has a huge cap number. Because the best player in the draft probably plays the same position as him in our defense. I love JT and keeping him has its benefits, but for a 2nd and 3rd or even a 2nd and 4th, that is too good to pass up. He'd also be going to the NFC in this rumor.
