Dolphins | Saban continues to deny he has interest in Alabama
Mon, 11 Dec 2006 19:13:39 -0800
Greg Bedard, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban again denied having any interest in the vacant coaching job at the University of Alabama. NBC's Peter King asked Saban if he was going to be in Miami after the 2006 season, but Saban never gave King a definite answer. Saban said he did not intend to be coy and added, "I in no way wanted to indicate to him or anybody else that there was any possibility of that. I mean, I have no intentions of going anywhere. Hell, they might not want me here after this season. You ever think of that? I think I've addressed that enough. I mean, when does this become a dead story? I've already said what I've said. I've already talked to our team and I don't think that I need to continue to address this."

Seriously, END THIS CRAP! How many ways does a man have to say "HELL NO!" before people believe him?

I don't know. It's extremely annoying. He even told Huizenga when Wayne asked him what the deal was that he was gonna stay, and had not talked to anyone at Alabama. I think this latest round of speculation is coming because Rodriguez turned down the 'Bama job. So now the media reasons, "Well, Saban turned them down the first time, but now Rodriguez rejected the job. Saban must've thought Rodriguez would take the job, so he showed no initial interest. Saban MUST be interested now". This is why I despise the ****ing media. Go bother Jack del Rio or Dennis Green.

Eh, he still has yet to say, " I AM NOT INTERESTED." I would also accept " ALABAMA, quit trying to contact me, I don't want it," or, " I am staying in Miami, I am not going anywhere."

The fact that he is still seemingly sidestepping things worries me. Him insinuating that perhaps, Wayne and Co. would rather get rid of him instead may be just Saban deflecting, but it could also be his way of not saying no either.

Personally, I hope I am reading too much into it. I think Saban is the best thing to happen to Miami Dolphins football since Marino.

i thought the same thing, but i think this is just the way saban talks to the media. he says things 75% and then implies he made them 100% without actually making the 100% statement. so i would be shocked if he was considering it.

Its time Saban just head slam the next writer who asks that question into a concrete wall

I support Saban too but if he really wants to go back to college for whatever reason then he should definitely go. Hopefully the handful of venom spewers out there who want to give him the axe b/c Miami isn't in the super bowl yet won't run him out of town.

I hope people out here aren't spewing venom. And esp they shouldn't spew venom because we aren't in the SB. No one can guarantee that. It would be great that after two full seasons we were a playoff team. That would be nice. Unfortunately, it didn't happen for us.

Without getting in anyway personal, I just want him to consider the "fact" that he is more suited for the college game than he is the NFL...and hopefully myself, and people like me can cause him to reflect-- and in the end, he'll agree with our analysis.

Saban...go to Tuscaloosa...Its lovely this time of year.

And if I had anything to do with it, I would have great satisfaction knowing that I in a extremely small way led him to leave Miami for Alabama. This would be a win/win situation. Bama would get a great college coach and we'd get the opportunity to get a great pro coach.

I'm probably dreaming, but sometimes dreams come true.
