Are you freakin kidding me? "Just get better?" Better than what? 4-12?

5-11 is an improvement! Is that the goal?

If improvement is the goal we're toast.

I'm not liking how Saban is diluting expectations here. He is very smart and knows the power of the media and fan outcry.

This is classic LOWER THE EXPECTATION rhetoric.

I'm pissed.

Little is achieved when little is expected.

To lose like this....3 games straight AT HOME...and losses against our divisional opponents....this speech is too little too late.

Can we even compete on any level??
 
Seems we got what we paid for. I thought we were getting fire and brimstone and it appears we're not.
 
He said that because he knows that Miami doesn't have all the players they need to be successful all the time. This is the best we have this season. It is all he has to work with. A team that is bound for 6-10 at best. It is an improvement. After the offseason roster moves, we can safely expect 8-8 or better and maybe a playoff run in 2006.
 
Some fans have, for some reason, expected way to much from this season. This is what we have been warned about all offseason and yet people still want Sabans head bc we may not make the play-offs.

I agree but you have to have little wins along the way. Unfortuneately you can not track little wins if they are unmeasureable like..Did we get better "in general"?

Yea, i guess i totally underestimated how far we had fallen.
 
I still feel better now,than anytime last year.
 
I dont know why people are whining about Saban or the Dolphins performance at this point.

He's evaluating. He's evaluating the players, and he's evaluating the staff. If possible, we'll win now. If not...So what? If you expected a complete turnaround this year, then you are a fool.

Gus Frerotte sucks, by why do you think Sage is any better? Four coaching staffs now have decided that he is at best a #2 QB. Spurrier, I believe had him originally and traded him. Wannstedt didnt think he was worth a damn. Bates didnt think he was worth a damn. Saban thinks he is worth a little more then a damn, but maybe not.

As for Linehan... I'm pretty strongly of the opinion he is being evaluated as well. What good is a coach if you dont trust him to work with autonomy? What better time to see how he works with some sort of autonomy?
 
The goal is to build a long-term winner. Don't forget Saban took over a team that had the 2nd overall pick in the draft, meaning the second worst team in football. Fans that expected the Dolphins to win right away, with a journeyman quarterback and a lot of other problems, were fooling themselves. Give Saban time. He needs to find the qb of the future, develop that player, and continue to bring in a more physical presence on defense. That's probably two more years.

I'm lost on this the players are playing better....but we still are losing games...stuff. Obviously the're not playing well enough....cause winning is the only issue that matters....thats why they have a winning and losing record...and not classed as a better playing record. You don't see a better playing but lost too many games team, going to the superbowl.

exactly, im so sick of all these socalled fans calling out our coach saying he sucks and hes soft and all that junk, i'm sure in 2 or 3 yrs when we r in the SB they will be the ones leading the parade saying that they knew it all along that saban was the man. all u fickle fans SUCK :fire: :fire:

I guess he can't evaluate and win at the same time?
 
This team was 4-12 last year. We have a good chance of winning 3-4 more games which isn't a bad season for a rebuilding year.

Saban is tweaking this team - look at it this way - in his FIRST year as head coach he beat Denver, Carolina, and was inside the 10 with a minute left against the Falcons and Patriots (and Bills). We are doin well this year - next year I expect to see some results - but this year we are doing great with what we have.

Do you REALLY expect to go frm 4-12 to 12-4 - some people have incredibly high standards.
 
give him time a turnaround is not a 1 year thing the pats sucked a long *** time before being good remember the pre-bledsoe era???????? same goes for other contenders
