I do not want Al Groh to be our defensive coordinator, ok I'm sure he will bring a sound physical mentality to our defense but I want more then that, the guy is old we need some new fresh blood with some innovative ideas, bring in Keith Butler the guy is only 52 and I'm sure he has been picking Dick LeBeau's brain and has some aggressive blitz packages he would bring along with him. We need to take chances and get after the qb not just sit back and play it safe and I'm sure that's what Groh will do, yea he will throw his occasional bland blitz at you but nothing creative, the steelers bring blitzes from all angles and they confuse the heck out of the qb bring this Butler kid in here it will be a great move and team him with Bill Sheridan. And why are we going to bring in Groh anyways? just because he is one of Bill Parcells "guys" enough of that stubborn-es lets get creative and bring some different guys in just like on offense I think we need a young offensive mind to come in there with a new innovative offense that can open it up!!!

Personally IDC who they bring in as long as they are young. A young defensive mind I believe would do wonders for this team and future unit. I said in a previous thread, I want a young DC to go w/ the youth movement in MIA. Who that person is, IDK, but I wish more people here and the media would be clamoring for it.

I also said in a previous thread NO MORE BP retreads!

I agree time for new blood. Bring in Butler and his blitzing schemes.

Was reported this morning that we contacted Groh to interview for the DC spot

Groh never impressed me with his other NFL jobs. Go with Butler - much better option.

I think if Groh was going to be our new DC it would have happened already.

Why would you think that prior to interviewing him? We are interviewing him, id say this week... I mean if we arent going to hire him, why would they bring him in for an interview

I didn't realize that Dick Lebeau was "New fresh blood" haha. Kind of a silly argument to make- "We should not get Groh because he is old, we should get Butler because he is only 52 but would run a defense just like a guy (Lebeau) who is freaking ancient!" Makes no sense man. I am sick of picking up position coaches and trying them at Coordinator, that's a Saban MO.

 I usually don't post here, but please no Groh.

The only people sorry to see him go from UVA were Virginia Tech fans (sorry, can't post links, but see dont fire al groh dot com, which has been active for years).

His teams couldn't even slow down Tech offenses, which over the last few years have been statistically some of the worst in the country. If his team can't contain an offense led by one of the worst OCs in college football then how is he going to deal with an NFL OC with weapons like Randy Moss and Tom Brady?
